First ride on the Santa Cruz 5010 at Kessler. It was magic.
The eagle drive made all the climbing less painful. Having extra room in the cockpit meant I could get up off the saddle with confidence. The trail bike geometry and slacker head angle made the descendents way more fun, because I was not stressing flying over the bars. The shocks have the perfect amont of squish and responsiveness, so I rolled over most of the chuncky technical rocky parts of the trail without being thrown around. I rode the berms, since the steering was not as twitchy.
The bike, the trails, and the weather were perfect.
I still love the Top Fuel, but it only works for me on cross country trails or gravel. I tend to be riding at Kessler or the Upper Buffalo and this is the perfect bike for me for where I ride the most.
