"Others were given in exchange for you.
I traded their lives for yours
because you are precious to Me.
You are honored, and I love you." - Isaiah 43:4 New Century Version
I use the New Century Version for this verse because it is easy to comprehend. But here's the King James Version of Isaiah 43:4 Since thou wast precious in my sight, thou hast been honourable, and I have loved thee: therefore will I give men for thee, and people for thy life.
This is a very powerful verse to me. I feel like I'm the most special person in the world because the most glorious, perfect, and satisfying Being is actually talking to me! This is the truth I am desperately holding to especially when I am being eaten up by my anxiety. I, Pearl, am precious and honored and loved by God. A very comforting and overwhelming truth anyone wanted to hear. "And I have loved thee, therefore will I give men for thee, and people for thy life." It moved me to tears. While we wait for others to tell us that we are worthy to be chosen above all things, God already chose us before we chose Him - that He would rather sell the whole world to get me back and be with Him again. This is the most assuring promise I have ever heard. And it comes from the Almighty One!
Most of the time I feel unnecessary, unworthy, unloved, and forgotten yet I never think what God feels everytime I feel that way. When I am consumed by an anxiety and depression, I cling to this promise. I am precious and honored by the Most Holy One. I am worth more than nations.
I know this is unbelievable especially when you are at your darkest. But God also promised that He loves you even at your darkest (Romans 5:8) because you that's how much you mean to God! That's how much He love you! He'd sell off the whole world to get you back, trade the creation just for you (Isaiah 43:4 the message version). How can you not accept this kind of love? ♥️
Practice makes perfect! I try to put in an hour of practice everyday and I am definitely seeing progress. If you're new to calligraphy, my advice is to keep a few sheets of your work from when you first started, that way, you can see how far you've come.
I'm now offering more fonts for my clients. They can choose to add flourishes to their words or keep it simple and modern :) Up your volume for that scratchy goodness :p
