Trigger Warning: if you are triggered by mint, spiders or the word trigger, then this post us not for you. Alternately if non business related posts on business pages annoy you then this post my not be for you either, as this post only pertains to Havens Handiworks abstractly.
So... Last week I was watching a video on foodie stuff and this lady went into a tiny rant on the frustration of working with fresh mint. And she specifically said that the worst part is picking out the spiders. I'm like okay, I guess big bundles would likely have spiders and other insects to be rinsed out. So side story, last year I started some mint from seed and this year I have broken it up into 4 pieces, but it was early in the season so no spiders. Fast forward to today and I notice my mint is a little leggy and it needs a good clipping so it will spread and bush out. As soon as I reach my hand in I notice this thing is full of little green spiders. Fun times, now I gotta figure out what to do with 2 cups of fresh mint. Maybe mojitos to start.
And if you are wondering what mint has to do with my business, I am thinking of including botanicals into some of my stock, things like lemon and mint bath salt or rosemary fire starters.
