I took this picture while on retreat this weekend, immediately after telling teenage boys not to jump over the 10 ft freezing river because they were dared to, while muffled screaming was coming through the walkie in my pocket because my teens and @kenndemoll think they’re funny. .
I stepped away for a minute to just be. To live in the moments of chaos. To feel the joy of this life. I still wake up and can’t believe this is the one I get to live. .
I hope your life brings you joy and if it doesn’t, I really hope you do what you need to do to make that your reality.
“No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you. You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you. These things I command you, so that you will love one another. "If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. Remember the word that I said to you: 'A servant is not greater than his master.' If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will also keep yours. But all these things they will do to you on account of my name, because they do not know him who sent me. If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not have been guilty of sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin. Whoever hates me hates my Father also. If I had not done among them the works that no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin, but now they have seen and hated both me and my Father. But the word that is written in their Law must be fulfilled: 'They hated me without a cause.'”
John 15:15-25 ESV
Comparison is the thief of joy. 👇🏾
You don’t know what they did to get it...
You don’t know the sacrifices they are making to keep it...
And, you don’t know the lies they are telling to maintain it. 🤷🏾♀️
When you are focused on someone else’s life you’re robbing yourself of the joy that’s found in living YOUR best life. 💜
I’m trying to help somebody.
Let me explain these beautiful pics. For those who miss my #MeetMichael posts- here is your fill.
This morning, Alex and I decided to catch up and spend a few moments chatting before hitting our cardio. We happened to run into our friend Michael while there.
Michael is content in his life- homeless and suffers from schizophrenia. He however, is NOT these things. These things don’t define him.
Today, we invited him to pull up a seat and chat! I gave him a warm hug and asked about his plans for Thanksgiving and what he is thankful for this year of which he so adorably held up both hands (one towards Alex and one towards me) and said - ”I am thankful for you two. My friends”. *Heart melts* ❤️ Michael began to share with me how he likes to inspire others and how he loves that even with nothing he can make a difference. Such perspective in our materialistic and consumerist society.
You can learn a thing or two from each person you meet.
We settled on plans for me to bring him a thanksgiving meal this Thursday, he posed for a pic with his buddy Alex and I left with my mind exploding with thoughts and insight.
Don’t. Judge. It’s not your place. Love people, care for people, look them in the eye and make a difference through the actions you show.
Michael told me he hasn’t ever had “real love” in his life to which I simply stated “We love you & Jesus loves you”. His smile spread ear to ear. 💓 #ladieswholovechrist#lwlc#online#onlineministry#scriptureoftheday#scripture#bestill#abide#kindness#love#friendship#thanksgiving#blessed#blessings#thoughts#inspiration#helppeople#lovepeople#tuesday#ashleypoptodorova#womenoffaith#faith#peace#joyful#joy#ministry
Have you heard of "ccc". No.. Not the Catechism of the Catholic Church, we meant "coffee, cake and catch up" ? 😉😍🍰 Our ministry is based on building relationships and discipleship just like what Jesus did.
We'd love to catch up with you, over coffee and cake if you just want someone to talk to or need a break. 😉
Great connecting with Allison, director of the special needs ministry at Revolution Church in McKinney! They have an amazing curriculum for special needs and will soon support ages 8 and up! Excited to partner with you, Allison!
When you think about serving at the church, you can think of a ton of reasons why not to.
I’m too busy.
I’m too tired.
I’m too old.
I’m too young.
Someone who defies all excuses and serves with a passion and energy that inspires all ages is my friend, Elijah.
This stud understands that you don’t have to have experience or age under your belt, rather availability and then watch God work!
I’m so proud of Elijah and his parents who set the example of serving faithfully each week!!
From Yesterday’s message from a star with the ball in her hands in the shape of South African Rugby International Nadine Roos, to an amazing message from a star with the ball at his feet in Kareem Moses, a Professional Footballer and Trinidad and Tobago 🇹🇹 International, we continue to mark the Month in which Orphan Sunday falls, by sharing the individual messages from the main video, which is still available via the link in the bio or on our site. ————————————————————
Kareem’s message to never stop believing in God or yourself is a lesson that comes from his own personal story. Growing up with his Mother and Grandmother, without his father around in a poor neighbourhood, with 6 brothers and sisters who all lived in one room, many times they lived not knowing where the money would come from for food. At times Kareem would go hungry, so his younger siblings could eat, yet he had a dream to be a professional footballer and never stopped believing. ————————————————————
Even when he eventually signed for his first professional club, he still had to overcome so many obstacles to succeed. Not being a paid player for those first few years meant times were rough and at one point he even faced being shot at and miraculosly surviving. In the end, Kareem’s faith in God was the one thing that kept him going, knowing that things would eventually get better. ————————————————————
It’s only now that he can look back and say that no matter how bad things get, you should never stop believing that you’re going to make it and that God is good, that he loves you and that he has a plan for you. ————————————————————
We really hope you enjoy this message knowing that it comes from Kareem’s heart and his passion to see you reach all of your dreams just like he did.

“God showed me the beauty and strength of community. I was allowed to grow and learn and fail and not only feel accepted through it all but wanted and loved.” Mirjam (Redhill 2010-2015, now in Sweden). As we celebrate ten years of Redhill we’re giving thanks for the way God has worked in and through the people that have been part of this church community. Your stories are our story! 📷: Blurry pic but clear memories of special farewell prayer moment for M&M.
Join me tomorrow at 9am Eastern Time live on FB! I’ll be sure to share the link on my page. Let’s start the day off together...y’all know y’all be on fb while u at work anyways 😝🙏🏾🙌🏾 #freshstart#ministry#devotionalthought
