I’ve been spending so much time alone in my studio lately that I didn’t even realize solstice is only alittle over a week away. This year has been a lot to handle, and I’m so ready to celebrate the darkness of night in anticipation for longer days.
This is Army Sergeant, Kalen Russell. Most of you may have remembered him from a post from awhile ago of a quote of his. He is this weeks Welder Wednesday pick.
He is 32 years old and is a structural welder with Hawk Installation. He has always worked with his hands, especially at a young age with his dad. He attended Tulsa Welding school in 2007 and in 2008 he enlisted into the military. He was stationed at Ft. Stewart, GA where he met his wife, Virginia. He ended up meeting Aubrey Greene in 2016 when attending a bridge the gap training. Kalen is a family man and believes that this career will sustain himself and his family for a long time. He believes that he didn’t choose this career. That this career chose him.
Thank you for your service, Kalen!! You are praised by many and you have all our respects!!🇺🇸🇺🇸
Another hand carved sign going through the shop for the town of Aurora, IN. We will be installing this one along with the large pocket watch sign next week. Swipe left to check out the awesome rose detail on this beast!

Preparing for Christmas! This is a stainless steel case for a customer who ordered a bespoke dial. The case is pre-finished using files, then very fine abrasive papers, and finally polished by hand. This way I can assure the best looking sharp edges, while at the same time maintaining a lovely handmade appearance of the watch.
