It's easy to conveniently forget how soothing a walk in the rain is. The thought of getting dressed up in waterproofs when the air is heavy and close can be off putting I know. Yesterday I decided to greet the rain, not under mac or brollie but bare skinned and bare foot for a few beautiful minutes.
I had planned to visit @goren_farm having heard of their wildflower meadows and as it was their last open weekend I thought I'd better get a wriggle on.
I have never stood in such a large expanse of wildflower, which in itself is a sad sign of our times but urge those of you who also may not have done so to seek one out. It was like standing in life itself, brimming with petals and pollens that feed million of unseen mouths. A soft brush of the grass sent hundreds of grasshoppers in all directions, a sight that has completely captivated the artist in me so expect to see grasshopper related sculptures 😁
The flowers themselves were glorious in a way that no garden centre could ever recreate. These blooms of old would have heralded things for our ancestors and a strange sensation of that knowing flowed through my veins as I marvelled at their wisdom. The glamorous six spot burnet moth on her orchid perch was such a treat for the eyes and the soul.
So as I sat at the brow of these seventy acres and released my aching feet from their shoes and into the soil not even the rain could dampen the magic found in this wildflower meadow. I closed my eyes to the pattering rain and tilted my head to the sky in thanks.
Always keep in mind, that every natural condition follows a sine curve. With constant ups and downs. Accept, that the highest up isn't a matter of course and not everlasting. Such as downs. Always have a glance at your path, where you went and where you want to go to. And after a steep, struggling way you have the greatest lookout.

And as it rained again in the evening, I look at my chai ka kulhad and the lush greenery around me which is God's mercy of bouts of shower. Tired of being in the city I took refuge in a quaint village called Jor and realized life's happiness sometimes does indeed lie in small and simple things.

Majestic mountains always brings in another perspective to life. They are so huge, makes me feel so tiny and suddenly I know I've to let go of my ego.
This was a toughie, starting at an altitude of roughly 8500ft., and gaining an elevation of 1400ft in 4 miles. We started at Fern Lake trail head, went to the Pool, Fern Falls and finally to Fern Lake. The last 0.25 miles to top still had snow and all my energy went in balancing my steps.
Took a detour on the way back, at the Pool. Checked out the Cub Lake the Meadows where we saw a few Elks.
The lake still has the top layer frozen. Bliss. Don't know if it was the elevation or the serenity, this hike made me release my suppressed emotions. #rockymountains#colorado#fernlake#rockymountainelk#summer2019#summerhikes#fernfalls#cublake#meadows#mountains#nature
