What do you know about our History ? About Osteopathy ? ❓
William Garner Sutherland biography: The founder of Cranial Osteopathy.
1873: birth in Portage County, Wisconsin, USA
1897 : 24 years old : he hears about Osteopathy. He is Surprised by the antagonist comments about it. He participates in conferences given by Still’s students Still (Edward C. Pickler, Charles Still, A.T. Still’s son). One day, he decides to visit Kirksville to get his own point of view. He is very surprised by what he finds: packed with patients reaching by entire trains, obvious and unexpected results, an indescriptible enthusiasm.
Imagine the feeling of such scenery. A new dawn of Hope for Healthcare in a World where Medicine was strongly approximative. Born on the ground of The American Civil War in a traumatised population.
Look at his intelligence, the sparks in his eyes: he was a survivor.
We are the sons of these fathers and honour their memory. 👏

The carpal tunnel is a narrow passageway formed between the small bones of your wrist (carpal bones) and tendons from the muscles of your forearm. Within the carpal tunnel lies the median nerve; this nerve supplies sensation to your thumb, index finger, middle and 1/2 the ring fingers, as well as some of the muscles in your hand.
Compression of the median nerve within the carpal tunnel, AKA carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS), often results in numbness and/or tingling in the thumb and first 3 fingers of the hand. You may also experience hand/wrist pain and weakness.
Treatment is usually directed towards activity modification, symptom management to help reduce irritation, and exercises; some of which we will be going through later this week!
Watching a horse process during a treatment is nothing short of incredible... eyes half closed
bottom lip drooping
resting muscle tone eases
breath slows and deepens
weight shift to adjust
What is Thoracic Outlet Syndrome?🤔 It is a compression of the nerves, sometimes arteries, leaving the neck when entering into the upper limb through the thoracic outlet: the space between the collar bone and the upper ribs.
COMPRESSED NERVE = NUMBNESS The most telltale sign of TOS is numbness along the arm, inside of the forearm, and the hand🖐🏼- specifically the smallest two fingers.
Weakness could come later without proper care or relief. SO, let me help!

💥Thumb Dissection 👍🏻💥
☝️The four thenar muscles make up the intrinsic muscles of the thumb. They include the abductor pollicis, adductor pollicis, opponens pollicis, and flexor pollicis brevis. .
🎥In this video you can get a great visualize on how the Thumb motion is facilitated through the coordination of these intrinsic muscles and how the thumb musculature dynamically allows for precision pinching and power gripping.
Hope you enjoyed this video Stay tuned by following @arspanos and @thestrengthpts 👍🏻
