This Mallard is actually wild and was very chilled coming over to me. Why did I call him Marvin? I'm glad you asked. Besides the obvious alliteration for fun and to talk to it (what do you mean you don't talk to them??!!) it's also because recently I have been listening to Marvin Gayes, What's going on album (Yes kids, Album!!) which is extraordinarily current considering it was recorded in 1972! It is very much an eco set of songs that questioned our population, beliefs, environmental impact, politics and our inability just to be considerate to one another. Mercy, Mercy, Me is a lyric written 50 years ago but is just as pertinent today.
Woah, ah mercy mercy me
Ah things ain't what they used to be, no no
Where did all the blue skies go?
Poison is the wind that blows
From the north and south and east
Woah mercy, mercy me,
Ah things ain't what they used to be
Oil wasted on the ocean and upon our seas, Fish full of mercury
Radiation under ground and in the sky
Animals and birds who live nearby are dying
What about this overcrowded land
How much more abuse from man can she stand?
