The only person that can make you live your truth is you. This is not the time to sleep on today’s news. This the time to wake up. This is the time to try something new, question old behaviors, shake yourself out of your comfort zone, and do work your ancestors would be proud of. Feeling anxious? Feeling sad? Find a patch of grass, lay down on the earth and for a second experience what it feels like to be held by the One True Mother. Does this suggestion irritate you? Make you roll your eyes? Does it make you uncomfortable? Good. That’s what we want. That means there’s work to be done. Go to that place of discomfort, sit in it, explore it, speak to it, love it. We need to heal our connection to Gaia first and foremost. How we as a collective treat the Earth is a divine reflection of how we treat the feminine identity as a whole. Are you surprised women’s rights are being suppressed as we rape and pillage the last of our natural landscape? There is a serious correlation here. The Earth needs you. Now is not the time to avoid reality to protect your spiritual identity. Now is not the time to stay silent to protect your business. Now is a time for immense healing. Now is a time for truth. Get to know yourself, get to know your triggers. Heal your childhood wounds. Use that perfect voice that your creator gave you. #wearevajra#iamvajra
I never remember my country being so divided, as it is now. Sometimes it makes me sad. I know it is needed to shake up the status quo. Eventually, we will find a better way than having "sides," each convinced that they are right, each invested in their own power.
I've had to look within and see if I've been part of the division or part of the solution. Lately I have been watching different sources of the news. What I see are two parties knowing that they are right, knowing that they are good, and thinking the other side is evil or at least very wrong.
Another long, but productive week, out on the East coast & here in the Midwest!! A lot of hearts touched, a lot of healing, a lot of hope!! Much Love 2:
- Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic School (Plymouth, MI)
- Stadley Rough Elementary School (Danbury, CT)
- South Street Elementary School (Danbury, CT)
- Great Plain Elementary School (Danbury, CT)
- Holy Family Regional Catholic School - North Campus (Rochester, MI)
Recently, I've begun to see how our idea of rugged individualism and every person for themselves has created a lifestyle where each of is lives in our private castles (our bodies), and manage everything from our command centers (our heads). It's difficult to keep track of everything, to plan, to make decisions, to juggle appointments, purchases, plans, dreams, and care. Add in loss, grief, stress, and emotional turmoil, and you have a recipe for people to be overloaded and exhausted. It's a lonely place to be.
What might the world look like if we turned toward each other instead of away? If we took care of each other? If we recognized that we cannot survive on our own, and that we are meant to connect?
Swipe left 👈🏻 A #NewYork woman was hit by a taxi and her dog broke free, plunging into the East River in a panic. The dog was getting tired swimming so a nearby man (celebrating his birthday with friends) grabbed a life vest and jumped in to save the dog. The terrified dog bit him and chipped his tooth, but it all ended well. He was reunited with his owner, and the hero is getting some dental work. 🙌🏻 #kindness#MakeAmericaKindAgain@InsideEdition
A woman and her daughter stiffed their waiter at a #NewYork#pizzeria , then accidentally left a cashiers check worth $450,000 on the table – her life savings (she’s buying a condo). The waiter and his boss went to great lengths to track her down, and return the check. She was embarrassed and offered to give the waiter his tip – he refused to accept it, but it all ended well. He could have easily thrown that check in the trash after she stiffed him. Good job! #kindness#MakeAmericaKindAgain ❤️🇺🇸 @nydailynews#TipGenerously@patsyspizzanyc
FAMILIAS UNIDAS | FAMILIES BELONG TOGETHER 🤟🏾
Wacotown, tomorrow @waco_ia is hosting their second annual families belong together rally, and I promise you do not want to miss it! Peep some PLCo. signage I created for the event. You know I loved doing this because of my core belief that beauty matters and has a role to play in fighting injustice! ANDDDD kicking xenophobia’s @$$ is one of my favorite hobbies 😉.
One of my greatest gifts this semester was learning from the guest speakers we brought in to share with my social policy class about the important work that’s being done in our community to advocate, ally, and work alongside vulnerable populations. Thanks to my girl @miriam_hernandez_1 I got connected with the POWERHOUSE @hopemustakim who leads WIA. She lit + fanned a fire for immigration justice in our class this semester and helped open our eyes to injustices taking place here in McLennan County.
Come out tomorrow at Heritage Square from 10am to 12pm at the corner of Austin and 4th St to hear how you can make a difference to support and be an ally for our immigrant neighbors! There will be live music, art, poetry, opportunities to further educate yourself on local immigration issues and ways to get involved 💓
Just returned from a 6 week out of state adventure!! Over 12,000 miles driven on the pursuit of peace!! A lot of sight seeing, & heart sharing along the way, & I wouldn’t trade the experience 4 the world!! Happy 2 be home now in the Mitten State, but much love & special thanks again 4 letting me passionately speak at:
- Megan Cope Elementary School (San Jacinto, CA)
- Valley Elementary School (Yucaipa, CA)
- Our Lady of Victory Catholic School (Fresno, CA)
OK, FUCK WITH ME NOW!
I'm taking back my power! I refuse to manifest the fear and misery some stranger is trying to inflict upon me!
My fb will be permanently deleted in 30 days. It's a horrible place to spend time anymore.
No one will take THIS COMMUNITY away from me!! Especially not one of dj's mindless minions! I will NOT let that ugliness infect me here!
So, here's what happened. I thought I was having an informed, intelligent political discussion with someone I know, when SOME RANDOM BITCH starts threatening to turn me into the federal programs that I participate in...for using cannabis. Now, while many STATES have legalized it, it's still against federal law and I could lose my housing and disability income FOREVER. I already live with the fear and anxiety of this risk. I never expected some random stranger to hack and troll my private account and gather private info to use to harm me irreparably, simply because our political opinions differ! I have meaningful friendships with some wonderful people whose political leanings couldn't be further from mine. This idiot is a special kind of loser!
My anxiety is high and I'm not!😆 But, Amazon finally found me yesterday, so I'm throwing myself into the secret project! I'm going to have an awesome day!
THANK YOU, EVERYONE! Your words of support, encouragement and love helped me get back to my FIERCE SELF! I just needed you to remind me WHO I AM!
I AM STRONG! I AM INVINCIBLE! I AM WOMAN, HEAR ME ROAR, you cowardly fucktard!
COME AT ME! I FUCKING DARE YOU!!!
(her fb account name is Lola Humphrey, but who really knows...)
Aaaaahhh, that's better.
Peace and loving kindness to you ALL.🙏🏼✌🏼❤️🙋🏻

Book 25 of 2019 - halfway to my goal!
I’ve been finishing a lot of books that I started last year, so I have to thank 2018 Jana for buying and starting an insane amount of books for my 2019 self to read and/or finish.
That lighthearted note aside, this book was incredible. Author @sam_aye_ahm sets Internment “15 minutes in the future,” and imagines an America where Muslim Americans are sent to internment camps. Seventeen-year-old Layla Amin is sent with her parents, and thinks the whole situation is unimaginable bullshit. This book was utterly engrossing, heartbreaking, and yet hopeful. “From many, we are one.” #bookstagram#janasinfinitereadinglist#iactuallyfinishedabook#yanovels#bookworm#diversebooks#makeamericakindagain#readersofinstagram
"While much psychology emphasizes the familial causes of angst in humans, the cultural component carries as much weight, for culture is the family if the family. If the family of the family has various sicknesses, then all families within that culture will have to struggle with the same malaises. In my heritage, there is a saying 'cultura cura', culture cures. If the culture is a healer, the families learn how to heal; they will struggle less, be more reparative, far less wounding, far more graceful and loving. In a culture where predator rules, all new life needing to be born, all old life needing to be gone, is unable to move and the soul-lives of its citizenry are paralyzed with both fear and spiritual famine." This book is essential reading for womankind. #makeamericakindagain#ournationneedshealing#predators#angst#wolfwomen#singoverthebones#laloba#culturalhealing
Swipe right to see the social worker in me asking Mr. Sanders how he plans to address the mental health needs of the farmers who are my clients and fellow rural citizens who are committing suicide at alarming rates.❤️ Thank you for being so consistent in fearlessly (& loudly😂) giving a voice to the most vulnerable and hurting people in our country! #feelthebern#socialworklife#makeamericakindagain

Yesterday, apparently, was World Kindness Day. I found out today. But if I spoke to you yesterday, I sincerely hope I was kind. I suppose we need a day to remind us...just like we need a day to appreciate chocolate, or dogs, or coffee, or tacos, or siblings. When we practice kindness we practice connectivity, seeing another with an open heart and open mind. Seeing the light that shines in another. Holding space for another’s pain or anxiety. Practice kindness...yesterday, today, and tomorrow. 💖 • #worldkindnessday#makeAmericaKINDagain#kindnessmatters#namaste#openheartopenmind#yogamom
