“I just felt like running.”
- Forrest Gump
I woke up at 5:30am this morning and couldn’t go back to sleep so I decided to run earlier than usual. It was totally worth it. I didn’t have any particular planned milage. I just ran and enjoyed what my mind and body is capable of. Sometimes that is the best thing to do when the going gets tough.
I have been rereading through “Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff” by Richard Carlson before bed at night, and it is really helping me shift my perspective on my life. I realize that I have a lot of negative thoughts, but I know I can conquer them. Sometimes runs are going to suck. Sometimes work is going to be too stressful. Sometimes things don’t go the way I plan, but that is ok. Most of the time is it just small stuff, and it’s just silly to worry about those things! I’m going to work harder to live in the present and be blessed with the things I have now 😊! Have a happy Thursday!

14 miles today 💃🏼 and hello 👋🏼 from Runner’s Heaven where the sky’s are blue, the road is flat, runs are easy, it’s 55 degrees, there’s no stop lights, everyone is smiling and has two feet flying in the air.... Have you ever experienced this during a run? Yeah, me neither! 😂
But we always can dream... 🤗
And no dream is too big, right? 🤷🏼♀️
This is really a “I’m finished!” smile 😁 These 14 miles were tough! I actually had to convince myself not to stop and walk during the cool down miles🙈 but always proud to finish!
My inspiration was my daughter who ran in her first Cross Country meet today. She’s been up at 4:30am the last two mornings to run. 🙌🏼 So proud of you @_kyramchugh !!

5 hilly miles today! I don’t like running hilly routes, but I actually enjoy doing the run I did today every once in a while. Part of it is on a trail, and the uphill is at the beginning so the second half is super easy! Also, as you can see, I got a haircut today! I got about ten inches off that I’m going to donate. I love my hair long, but I’m really enjoying the shorter length. I was able to run in an unbraided ponytail for the first time in years today 💁♀️. I was busy this afternoon, but I’m going to get in a little bit of core and hip work before bed.
Taking a break from strength training this week. 3 miles a day all week and camelback this weekend. I feel like a stronger runner. Still not the fastest but definitely feel more powerful. 🏃♀️💪 #runnergirl#run#runhappy#morningrun
#tbt to the 2016 Newburyport half marathon. So excited that exactly one month from today I'll be singing the National Anthem for this race for the 3rd consecutive year and running it for the 4th.
So far out of all 4yrs this is my fav action shot and it was also the 1st year I sang for this one. I absolutely adore this fall race tradition and having so many great opportunities to blend my two passions of singing and running together.
Thankful Thursday! -
That feeling when you finish a workout that you wanted to quit less than half through... Going on little sleep due to hot, powerless night. I cannot complain because we’ve been back two days and many have been here a week (without power). Plus, we’ve got it good no matter what considering the majority of the world doesn’t have power, AC, or even clean water. So I’m thankful for a bed, water, and the possibility of power being restored within the next 24 hours. That was the giant pole is in the next picture! A new post for the downed lines behind my house! 🙌 Back to my workout: I got in a little over 10 miles with a warm up/cool down with 6.5 miles in the middle of goal marathon pace with 10k surges every 800 meters. I love this workout, but today was extra challenging. I’m now enjoying some instant coffee and toast cooked on my grill. A cold shower is in my near future (along with yard clean up). What are you thankful for? Have a great day!
#hurricaneflorence cannot stop me!! #thankful#thankfulthursday

That’s it. You find me on my seesaw!
Today the training was really hard.😵 Instead of tapering for Sunday’s Halfmarathon, I had some Intervals on my plan.🏃♀️😬 Chicago Marathon is coming soon, so my preparation is aiming for that and the Halfmarathon will be only training for the bigger goal this time.💪 One more hard week and then I’ll taper finally, too!🤗
Today probably was even harder, because I didn’t sleep well last night.😴👎 At the moment I often have problems with falling asleep. Sometimes I‘m lying awake for hours.🛌🌙 Any helpful advice?
Did you ever try one of those Melatonin compounds? Are those working?
Is anyone else thoroughly ready for the weekend?! 🙋♀️ I know, I know, don’t wish your life away. But my week has consisted of officially starting my part-time MBA program in the evenings and I feel too old and tired for this s #!t. It’s hard getting home around 10pm and trying to immediately shut my brain down for bed. As a morning runner, I’m used to being in bed by this time (hey - whatever works right?!) OH WELL - I’m over my complaints because I realize these are small potatoes in the grand scheme of things, especially after seeing a hurricane destroy a notable portion of our state. So I’ll just be over here (DRINKING COFFEE) and I’ll keep on, keepin’ on. 👌

NEW FOR 2018 🌟😃!
Do you think you’ll need some extra motivation on course? This year we’ve left space on your race bib for you to write your name! Pop your name on and get loads of extra encouragement from friends, family and strangers alike. We promise it’ll be worth it! #RoyalParksHalf
Morning walk done with my littles (including G) 💕 Even when I haven’t had time to brush my teeth or re-put up my hair from sleeping on it, I’m making sure we are getting outside and sticking to our routine for everyone’s sake. Don’t be fooled, most days I have to force myself to step out the front door but it is so worth it. I promise Charlie loves being outside, she’s just very expressive lol oh and those newborn baby neck rolls 😍 Between this one and our evening walk, we will be getting in a total of 3.1 miles for #hurricaneflorencerun. Don’t forget to register so we can donate as much as possible to those affected by Hurricane Florence. We are donating all proceeds to @allhandsandhearts and Franks Way Foundation. The link for more information is in my bio.
Short but very sweet.
I have been craving a run for days now but in amongst yoga teacher training, packing for the big move this weekend and an exceptionally busy week at work there has been no time. Today I made the most of working from home and nipped out for a little 3km on my lunch break. No idea when I'll have time to shower though 🙈
Spartan Race Roma SUPER
Marshal: "fai 30 burpees!"
Io: "30 burpees?! E che so?! 😓"
