@alauerman was one of our first recipients for #BandsforBooks in 2019! Each and every one of who helps to send books to teachers across the country with your purchases. Thank you so much for helping us expand our mission 😊
To stash or not to stash? For some reason, I think this piece of Biggs Jasper belongs in gold.

We were really able to update the look of this room. We took down all that old faux wood paneling put up new drywall, installed engineered hardwood floors and a fresh coat of paint!! -
If your looking to update some of your living spaces within your home or just need to get that “honey do List” under control send us a message we would be happy to help.
::Friday introduction:: since I have never done one before & all the other small business people I love seem to have done this already!
I’m Katie Doucette, and I was born & raised in Saugatuck, MI. I still live there with my husband & 2 kids & 2 dogs. I am the founder of polka dot mitten.
I started PDM in 2013 on a whim, after our family friend/sales rep told me she would sell my art to gift shops if I made a catalog for her. She wasn’t kidding. A year later my art was in numerous shops all over MI and I had an additional sales rep! It has been a complete trial and error experience with plenty of tears along the way. Sadly, my first sales rep, Sue, passed away 5 years ago this week from cardiac arrest while my brother was undergoing emergency open heart surgery. That led us to donate a portion of our sales each and every month to the Wes Leonard Heart Team so they can buy AED devices for schools. We’ve been doing that for almost 5 years now, thanks to all of you, who have supported us continually.
Today I have 4 assistants who help me in the studio every week. They deal with my scatterbrained, organized chaos daily. We have a ton of fun, though, and work is really more like hanging out with friends. I appreciate them so much!
Aside from polka dot mitten, I also license my artwork to big companies who sell it nationwide. It’s my 2nd job and you can learn more about that on my other page @katiecreatie !
Just wanted you to know these little facts behind the art & products I promote every day. :) Thanks for continuing to be a part of what I do!
Art studio is a magical Space indeed. Some of us have a small corner, some of us renting large spaces, and some of us transferring existing rooms and adding additional space to our homes. Six years ago, when my husband supported me in my decision to quit my job and dedicate my life completely to Art, we have made a decision to build addition to our home. I designed a studio and within next couple months it has been done. 16 x 16‘, two rooms and full bathroom. Lots of details and researches have been included in my design and I’m happy to report that it works brilliantly for me. In fact, not only for me but for many students that come to my home studio for art classes. Yesterday, I have started my winter four weeks session in Thursdays. Anyhow, as I have many questions about the home studio, I decided to share the photos of how it looks right now. #artstudio#artsandcrafts#artsupplies
One year ago we launched The Letterwell Co., expecting nothing more than a few orders per month. It is such a blessing to be welcomed into your homes in this way, and we are so excited for what 2019 will bring! 📷: The sign that gets the most love! DM us with any questions or check out the listing on our Etsy page.
So excited to be extended for four more weekends at the downtown markets!
Check IG stories for the dates + hours! NEW stuff will be coming at cha this weekend and the next 4!
PS Thank you for all the support. You all are the BEST.
Happy Friday. Hope all the good things come your way. 💫
Another from the archives- Cocobolo MJ from 2012. I tried out some bracing that I believe was introduced, or at least the first time I saw it, by Trevor Gore. I still need to read his books. Anyone else tried this arrangement out?
