Looking down over the doma entrance below. This space was once a storage space, but we removed the floor and restored the original mushikomado slatted window that had been covered up for decades. Now the entrance is full of light.

From the wooden gate welcoming you to Hikoso-machi KINNOMA, tiled roofing, lattice windows & doors – each element has been carefully preserved, which allows for you to truly appreciate the architecture of these traditional houses.
The Japanese garden that sits in front features bamboo, ume plum blossoms, and the matsu tree – all quintessential greenery to represent the auspicious motif of “sho-chiku-bai” (松竹梅). From the living room, you can view another spectacular garden – from the stone-paved pathway to the Shirakawa sand, this one has been designed to be colorful all-year long. This is the 2nd room of Nishizin-Isa-cho Machiya ( #nishizinisachomachiya ) . This machiya offer you special experience. You will hear and see the real Kyoto traditional craftsmanship ( #Nishizinori ) while you are staying. You can look through the studio from the livingroom on second floor. This is a fantastic space that guest's privacy is protected.

Taiko (太鼓?) engloba uma variedade de instrumentos japoneses de percussão. No Japão, o termo refere-se a qualquer tipo de tambor, mas fora do Japão, o termo é geralmente usado para se referir a qualquer um dos vários tambores japoneses chamados de wadaiko (和太鼓?) e a forma de apresentação o taiko chamada de kumi-daiko (組太鼓? lit. "coleção de tambores"). O processo de construir taiko varia entre os produtores, mas a maioria inclui a confecção e definição da força do corpo do tambor, escolhendo uma superfície para a pele do tambor e cuidadosamente esticando a superfície acima do tambor para criar uma tensãoapropriada.
