Happy Feast Day
Feast day: April 27
Patronage: #Domestic#workers, #homemakers, #lostkeys, people ridiculed for their piety, rape victims, #single#laywomen, #waitresses, Italian City of #Lucca
Saint Zita was born in Italy to a poor family. She grew up as an obedient child doing God’s will. At age 12, she became a housekeeper to a wealthy family in Lucca and ended up staying for 48 years. Daily Mass and prayers, along with her duties as a #housekeeper, were part of her routine. She did these so perfectly that the other servants were jealous, but she won them over with her generous spirit. Initially, her employers were concerned with her gifts to the poor but accepted her acts of charity and “ trusted her with the keys” of freedom of the household to care for the poor, sick, and the prisoners. Her body is incorrupt to this day. On April 27th the people of Lucca bake bread and bring flowers to the church of San Frediano.
A quick thought on the power of a mindset 🔑
As many of you know (and laughed about with me), on Christmas Day my jeep keys were somehow mistakenly put into someones gift bag and carried 3 hours home with them. Me and Chris both lost our spare keys back in March so I was 100% SOL.
The crazy part is we searched her bags before she left and didn’t see them. My dad offered to drive to get them but 6 hours on the road didn’t seem worth it so I told her just to mail them. It took 3 days which was fine. I know this is something that would work up a lot of people, but I literally just shrugged my shoulders at it. Why?
I am a FIRM believer in “everything happens for a reason”. Everything. It was so strange that my keys somehow ended up in a random bag across the room and still unseen even after we searched the bag. Immediately my reasoning was something bad would have happened had I been on the road during those days. Divine intervention my friends! I don’t just think it, I BELIEVE it!
A few years ago me and Chris were driving to take someone a gift and an hour into our trip we realized we forgot the gift! WTF. But I told Chris right away, the same thing. There was a reason we were supposed to change course.
Thinking this way quickly turns any frustration into appreciation. Everything has a way of working itself out wether we ever know it or not!
Here is an old photo of Pistachio looking for his car keys. He dropped them when he was laying on the beach and a big wave came and knocked him over but he didn’t notice they fell out of his pocket and then the tide came in. Then it got dark and the gate to the park he was in closed so he couldn’t even get his car towed so he had to get a ride home from a fisherman that talked about guns the whole ride back. Then he went to get his car towed the next day but they took so long that the gate closed again so he had to go to this park an hour from his house for a third time the next day. Then he found out that he had also lost his other keys by leaving them in a jacket at a restaurant several months ago and never went to pick it up. Then he found out that it would take a week and cost $1000 to replace the keys. Then he tried to rent a car and found out that his license had expired. Also sometimes I put things that really happened to me in my captions and pretend they happened to birds.
