There is sometimes the misconception that brave or heroic people do not feel fear. That is absolutely untrue. Those who do courageous things are often afraid, but they face their fears and they do what has to be done anyway. : ✒️@lauradoling
We went off to Skye with my parents when they were visiting - my first time in six years living here. No shame, there's so many other wonderful places to see in Scotland! But it was a great trip - can't wait to go back! The trip started with boarding the ferry from Mallaig to the island. It was windy as hell, but beautifully sunny. You really get great views doing that crossing! (If the weather is nice, of course!)

The final part of the series I shot for @asusindia the #DelhiMetro . The real reason behind, why I wanted to do these films was coz it was my excuse to travel and experience these trains that really shape India .
I must add here a bit of learning that came with filming these trains journeys ( drum 🥁 roll) .
A selection of the traditional Cambodian sweets we get to sample when we visit our dessert making family in a village on the edge of Battambang. A lot of Cambodia’s sweets are similar to those you find in neighbouring countries, made from ingredients such as coconut, sticky rice, taro, cassava, sweet potato, pumpkin, mung beans, banana, pandan, jackfruit, mango, sesame seeds, and palm sugar. There are slices, layer cakes and puddings, and the yellow bite sized sweets made from egg yolk, flour and sugar, which came from the Portuguese.
This week has been incredibly long and busy. Ready to start the weekend. Saturday we are heading over to Saint Petersburg to watch a Rowdies ⚽️ we have never been to a professional soccer game before, so looking forward to it! .
When was the last time you took the State bus as mode of transport? Hope you've done it at least once if not at all.
It was and rather continues to be one of the most reliable sources especially if you want to go to the interior regions of any place.
These buses now seem to be in memories of most of us who've graduated to taking a private cars or AC buses to reach close to any destination by road.
But these buses take us back to the time when we lived in minimal expenses. Traveling was a privilege and budget was the first priority than the places to see.
Today as people influence others to travel and reach exotic locations, they forget the local mode of transport which carries a story on every seat. As we've progressed in the name of development, there are so many commute options to choose from. But a train will reach you till the railway station and a private share car till the point of pick up. If there's something that goes beyond, on the potholed and winding roads till the rural doorsteps, it's these state transport buses. .
Who travels by them nowadays? Those who've chosen not to change with the influx of money, those who've to worry about their field work and rainfall situation, those who aren't really tax bound but do taxing work all throughout the year. These are the people who don't change with their bank balance figures. They are humble and think of these buses as their primary option. .
For us urbanites, local travel still means just interacting with those living in huts, eating a basic meal that they have all around the year, and smiling for pics with their kids around. But for them, catching a seat in these buses is a struggle that begins from the windows. It is still widely used mode of going back to interior roots in native places. It is a connection that joins rural and urban that we underestimate in a need to be wanderlusters.

Der Dschungel ist überall wo du ihn willst!
Noch heißt es Plastepflanzen in der Fresse, bald hoffentlich anbaden im Thüringer Meer!
When we first moved to Mombasa I recalled going to mamba village (crocodile village) as a child so I took my kids there and it was sad how run daisy and abandoned it was but we still had a few special moments.... .

Public Service Announcement: The heavenly Babylon Log House is available this weekend from tonight through Saturday—and for a reduced nightly rate! Soaker tub, two beds for 2-4 guests, an absolutely stunning kitchen, and all just a short walk from some of our favourite spots in PEC, like @bloomfieldbeautyco , @agrarianbistro, the new @matronfinebeer and county staple @slickersicecream . Caught cabin fever yet? We strongly recommend using up those well-deserved vacation days tomorrow and playing hooky. Just sayin'. #escapeottawa
NEW YORK - 2015: “Tony was present that night with us at the bar, just as we've seen him be with the people he meets along his travels. Whether with the people of the Congo or chefs in Los Angeles' Koreatown, you get the sense that he's paying attention. It's not a routine or schtick, and we got to see that up close and personal.” - Steve Hurlburt [This older CNN piece by @steve.hurlburt (linked in bio) got me thinking. Thanks Steve.] When people would see Tony in a place, the same place that they were, they often professed disbelief. They couldn’t grasp the idea that world famous TV personality, celebrated writer, celebrity chef, cultural ambassador Anthony Bourdain was in the same place that they found themselves in.
I would usually say something like “Well have you seen the show? It’s about people in places. Real people and real places. Currently it’s this place. The same one that you are in.” Then they were usually surprised that this person, the one that they admired, maybe even idolized, was so much like the personality from his television shows.
So I would continue with something like “What were you expecting him to be like? It’s not acting. That’s just him, with his thoughts, being himself. But you know, being himself in this place.” As they tried to wrap their mind around the reality of Tony, I would challenge them and say “Could you do me a favor? Next time you come into this place, look around the room and realize it is an interesting place, full of interesting people. Really interesting people. Choose one of them. Someone that you don’t know, or maybe someone you don’t know so well. Buy them a drink. Sit with them. Have a conversation. Listen to them. Share your thoughts. Start the conversation anywhere; ask about their drink of choice, or how they came to choose this place. Then steer the conversation towards the things that person really wants to talk about. Imagine yourself as Anthony Bourdain. Put yourself in his shoes. Be curious. Dig deep. Recognize the interaction with a bartender or a waiter as a collaboration. Engage the people around you. Then write me a note and tell me how you feel about your world now. #makefriends#meetpeople

Good Morning❤️. Here’s a little coffee-shop porn to brighten any tuesday😘. I had pastries to share, but by the time I got done with the mini vid, it was half eaten. Sigh... struggles of travel with a non-blogger who eats food without taking pictures of it first... his normalness is super weird to me. Like what is wrong with you? Who just eats food off the plate when it’s placed in front of them?! Haha j/k babe😘 I know you’ll never see this since you’re not on Insta, but thanks for putting up with my hijinks and ignoring the WTF-is-she-doing stares when I start rearranging things in restaurants and overdress for takeout. This post is for you❤️❤️❤️🥰 Also, pardon the choppy vids, I’m a total noob #lifestyleblogger#newenglandblogger#coffee#bloggerlife#localtravel#travelblogger#influencer#foodblogger#coffee#wellsmaine#visitmaine
I call this my, “will it snow, be 50 and sunny, or 40 and rainy today?” jacket. 🙄
