Shinsekai ("New World") is a district in Osaka that was developed before the war and then neglected in the decades afterwards. At the district's center stands Tsutenkaku Tower, the nostalgia-evoking symbol of Shinsekai.

Lake Suwa Festival
One of the two major Fireworks Show held in Suwa-shi on Lake Suwa.
With a total of about 40,000 fireworks, the largest in terms of the number of fireworks, the rapid firing of Shaku sized fireworks, and the 2 km long Grand Niagara, etc, create a spectacular firework show of grand scale surrounded by mountains.
Hydrangea, or ‘ajisai’ in Japanese, is native to Japan which has been cultivated from Nara Era, and has been used in composing many poems from ancient time.
There’re 10,000 varieties of hydrangea, and 60 different species, which bloom in different season; for example, some bloom in middle of May, and other bloom in September.
The Takeda Castle, constructed on the mountain at 353 meters of altitude, is one of the hundred famous castles in Japan.
In autumn early on the morning, fog can be seen when the sky is clear. The view is such that the castle can be seen surrounded by a sea of clouds, thus resembling a castle floating in the sky.
As time goes by, visitors have given the names of “castle floating in the sky” or “Japan’s Machu Picchu” to the ruins of Takeda Castle.
In Children's Day, Japanese raise the carp streamers called "Koi-nobori".
"Koi-nobori" is a set of streamers in the shape of carps in different colors and sizes.
Gunma Prefecture is the best city to enjoy this scenery. Over 5,000 of "Koi-nobori" waving in the sky.
