I dealt with a premier retailer of menswear, about why I haven't received a shipping notice for an item purchased 10 days ago. They snottyly explained the problem was due to me having it shipped to a PO Box, I replied boat's don't have street addresses. They are refunding the shipping charges. But still can't tell me when I will get it. The full retail experience.

This quote from Buddha is a perfect survey of our modern concept of Framing (and neuro-platicity) just 4 thousand years early. NBD.
So much need for this has arisen in my work recently. Framing - which can be as simple a concept as our “perspective” , and as complex as “self-conception” is a tool that is most times either forgotten or severely under-valued. It is the lens through which we view every experience: be it sensory, emotional, or physical. And we have control over it!
It is such a vast tool to change the body and the mind that there is no way to cover it all at once, but “self-speak” is an immediately available and omnipresent example of how we all Frame every day.
My mother’s chemotherapy mantra was “Mind over matter!” and as a young kid that concept always failed to hit home, smacking of a mother’s unique brand of trivial informality. Despite its suburban baby-boomer sageness, it DOES lack the succinct gravitas of Buddha’s words - but that makes it no less true. We forget to recognize the power we have at every moment to make changes in our experiences on a fundamental level. Mind DOES affect matter.
It’s the words we use when thinking to ourselves - about ourselves. It’s the difference between the “self-care we deserve” and the “self-care we thank ourself for doing”. It can be this simple because words are so often markers of our tacit feelings in self-ideation. Thinking of yourself as a “sick person” is very different from “a person who is sick,” and as nit-picky as it may seem at the beginning, these little differences matter. They are the thoughts (also read: chemicals and electrical connections) that we silently think to ourselves over and over every day. As much as we may doubt it, each thought is a dose - a physical and physiological thing.
It couldn’t be easier than simply paying attention and being deliberate with ourselves and our words. .

I’m the first to admit, I need a better morning routine. I asked a while back for tips on getting out the door on time in the morning and you all had awesome advice! But right there you can tell my morning routine is flawed.
A couple things I do well tho are a huge glass of filtered water with lemon or ACV and a pinch of good salt. This is so good for remineralization in the body and alkalizing it. We use so much of our important minerals by the body working to keep us in balance. This goes for pH, stress, and more. By hydrating the body first thing as well, we will feel our best for the day. Hydration is so important. And the added bonus from the lemon or ACV is it kick starts digestion.
I always start my day with some deep breathes. While I do this, I think of my day and what I need/want to accomplish. This is important to set the tone and help me to accomplish goals, chores or whatever needs to be done. This is kept simple, for example, I may want to try that new recipe or get a workout in, etc. Big or small, if you know from the start of your day that you are doing it, you are more than likely to get it done.
Now some things I’d like to add in, would be some form of movement. A walk, a workout or stretching. Something. Also, time to sit and relax and enjoy my coffee. Just even 5-10 mins. Maybe journal. Reminding ourselves first thing of what we are grateful for, really puts the mind in the right place. ~
This all applies to my weekday routine, my weekends, well they are more ideal. I’m sure you can relate!

Today is day 5 of the #lsfsugardetox! And I’m absolutely loving this challenge! Yesterday and today were definitely a lot harder to dodge the sugar considering the holiday and all the yummy treats that were around!
But I’m so happy knowing that I am strong enough now to control my cravings and stick to an eating plan even when I know it’s going to be hard! Just about 1 year ago I would have NEVER thought I could do that! But it’s such a great feeling not being a slave to my cravings and giving in whenever my mind and tummy want it!
So. Two more days after today and we did it! Jeff and I are definitely looking forward to a sweet treat on Monday however 🤗

Sergio came in today on his way from the doctor (hence his workout attire) because he wasn’t feeling well 🤒
He really wasn’t up for working out so instead we headed outside and got in the sun ☀️ worked on breathing 🌬grounding 👣and some light movement 🚶🏼♂️
Within 15 minutes he was feeling better 💪🏻 It’s fascinating how little things like standing outside barefoot and breathing properly can have such a profound impact on our health and wellbeing 💆🏻♂️ We aren’t your average gym, we don’t just care about improving your fitness; we’re all about optimizing your health and wellness too 👍🏻

Received this much needed reminder this morning. In times of fear or anxiety I default to putting myself on the back burner... I forget to do the simplest of self-care, a "habit" that's been difficult to break...
Very similarly, how we present ourselves to others... will we put away the phone, book, or other distraction when someone is sharing themselves with us? When choosing to be present when another gives their attention to us shows they ARE most important to you... 💛
