Day 87 // Parking lot donut picnic 🍩 We’re fancy like that.

One of my goals for this year is to get outside for at least 20 minutes each day, phone free. •
It’s embarrassingly difficult, especially when the weather is bad. Every time I do make it out though, I’m reminded how much it’s worth it. It’s like I can feel my shoulders relax an inch every moment I’m outside. •
Easily the highlight of my workday, especially on days like today, when you can almost feel spring trying to break through. #upstateclub#outsideeveryday

Laughing is the spice of life people! If your cheeks aren’t burning your doing it wrong!! Live, Learn & Laugh... what else do you need? ........ TBT to Jtree with @surf.climb.jess last weekend, crazy fun (too much fun??) and incredibly healing, as always.
Forever mesmerized by the sea and digging 😆 He makes us stop and be present, notice the small things and enjoy what’s around us. Most of the time we’re still hung up on how tired we are or how hectic the morning was but then we have these little moments of calm and it’s like a refresh button. Thanks little one 💕
Just a booked a 3-week trip to Hamburg, Berlin, Amsterdam and Brussels! VERY EXCITED! May also spend just an afternoon in Paris (depending on trains and planes...!!) Let me know if you have any suggestions!!
Kissing a Chameleon was not on my bucket list nor was climbing #mountkilimanjaro (they seemed out of my league) but here we are in #Africa!!! Whaaa? It’s absolutely magical! I can see why they say us humans were born out of the dirt here. The air is thick w the comforting smell of earth and elephants. Tomorrow begins the trek thanks to @eddiebauer the brilliance of @ihprteam and a dream of @mandymooremm (who is rad BTW and so are her pals). This will be fun..I’ll say hello to mountains of Africa for you and if you need a wish from the top of the #motherland DM me w your request...this kind of thing to me is pilgrimage and if I’m gonna suffer for seven days walking up a mountain in the rain I’m down to do it on behalf of anyone who could use some 💜💜💜 😘from the highest places. #WhyIhike#liveyouradventure#countdowntokili photo: @andrewmaguirephoto

•you are a match for your mountain.•
So tell your mountain about your God.
About a forgiving and loving universe that is peaceful chaos at her core.
Tell her of the respect your flesh has for her might.
The bone chilling weather that bites.
Tell her that you honor her, that your God has created her to hold fiercely the rumbles of the past.
And the quakes of the future.
That her presence heals and restores through the power that has been bestowed upon her.
But also takes and wrecks and crumbles.
Shedding layers each and every season.
Only to hold new layers on the next cycle around the sun.
So, we respect the mountain.
Knowing in our core, we are here to teach one another they can, and must, be climbed.

It’s World Water Day—a day created by the UN to call attention to the global water crisis. How over half a billion people still live without safe drinking water. This year’s theme is Nature for Water and aims to explore using nature to combat the global water crisis.
I’ve seen firsthand the affect a lack of freshwater has on communities. In college, I was lucky enough to visit Rwanda on a volunteer trip. Women and children walked miles to fill up yellow jerry cans with water from wells. This water would be used for drinking, cooking, bathing, and cleaning.
Today, that tiny country with so much heart is leading the charge on providing universal access to clean water. In fact, Rwanda’s president is committed to making that a reality for everyone in the nation by 2024. The same country ravaged and broken by genocide just a few decades ago …a tiny nation of just 12 million…is going to make this happen.
I’m so inspired by the nations and organizations making this happen. And I know that while we still have a long way to go, that goal of no person without clean water isn’t completely out of reach. Today, I’m taking a baby step and donating to one of my favorite charities: Drop in the Bucket, because I think their name and mission is synonymous with how we can all help lead the charge—one drop in the bucket at a time.
Other charities I love supporting on #WorldWaterDay include: Charity: Water, World Vision, UNICEF, Water for Good.
We have never been desert people. Quite the opposite actually. I would prefer it to never be over 70°. I never thought in a million years I would be so impressed with a desert place. A bunch of rocks and brown ugliness... boy was I wrong. So far our trip to Sedona and Zion have been my favorite trips. The beauty is hard to understand even when it's staring you in the face. I am already planning our trip back!!
🔸”Mountains make me feel small and grateful to be alive. When pushing myself up a difficult trail or pulling up on a tiny hold on a difficult climb, I’m always amazed at what my body can do. Mountains make me feel proud of myself and humbled at the same time."

🔸”My older brother died a couple years ago after a 5 year battle with Leukemia. After that I realized life is short and its important to spend it doing what you love and pushing your limits. I choose the mountains because its important to not waste it with people and environments that dont make you come alive and bring a sense of wonder, which the mountains always do for me"
