Let me insert WOMAN! When I read this quote, I thought again of Ruth Bader Ginsburg. It does not matter what your political beliefs are you would have to agree this woman has jumped over every hurdle ever put in her way. That is why I am a #true#believer. She inspires me in whatever my owner personal fight maybe. Ruth is just a #badass. If you aren't familiar with her background and story, you need to catch up by watching the documentary about her life. The title is #RBG, and you can find it on @Netflix. Renting this is also an option. I think I'll watch it again. She has battled #cancer numerous times.
Do you have an example of when you were told something could not be done, and you went forward and accomplished it anyway? Maybe it was a belief about yourself that you realized was bullshit, so you decided to let it go and take on a new belief.-- Please share in the comments - Cliff Notes are indeed acceptable. My mom told me for years, "Shari, you have a difficult time with change." A few years ago, I thought about her statement and wondered why she would say that. I realized I actually enjoy when things get changed up. There are a lot of lessons that I can learn. My mom is the person who despises change and is terrified of it. She was simply projecting her fear. So, I decided that changes were something that I would never allow myself to over think or to stop me from accomplishing my desires. Change for me is a very good thing. Shari Your turn :) .
Here's how my #Sunday afternoon/evenings look lately: biking to the #climbing gym just as the sun casts its final glow over #Paris.
Not a bad routine, if I do say so myself. It's my breath of #freshair among a very busy schedule.
The weekly grind has been pretty intense lately after joining in on the inspiring work of @thewellbeingp, plus working to coordinate @paristalks (March 15!) and somehow still squeezing in the monthly @duolingo language exchange event I co-host. Then we got the final French translation of @360living.co so I'm reviewing that as I find time (ha!)
Among all that, getting these moments of fresh air and movement with friends has become pretty indispensible to #unplug from responsibility & #recharge my batteries (this weekend we're taking things outdoors to #climb in #Fontainebleu!)
Anyone else out there guilty of #overcommitment? It seems to run in my blood. I've decided that after things slow down a bit next month, I'm going to force myself into a state of non-doing for a bit.
That is to say: doing only things that replenish me instead of drain me. Probably that will involve music (guitar, singing), reading, journaling, and nature. Thank goodness for the lovely parks of Paris.

In the act of dusting, I spotted a crown.
A Barbie tiara to be more precise.
It had been carefully placed on the mamma figurine’s head by the little hands in our home.
The reasoning was simple of course...
‘Because you are the queen and daddy is the strong and handsome king and we are the princesses.’
The twinkling element of childhood innocence sprinkled with the enchantment of fairytales is a wonderful thing, but of course my adult mind immediately started thinking of all the ways that I am not remotely like a queen and of how unfairytale-like real life is.
I saw crowns lying in the dust of misguided pursuits and selfish ambition and I wondered about what crowns my life truly is building towards.
It’s sometimes heart-wrenching opening the curtains on the motives of my heart. But in the drawing back, in the opening and the allowing of light in, I see the truth etched so deeply in the hidden places. And it’s here that I am able to lock eyes with the truth. I feel so disappointed when I discover the familiar faces of selfishness and stubbornness glaring back, hoping for a showdown. But it’s oh-so-quietly that I pull the rug out from underneath them and watch them fall. I remind them that I am but a vessel and this soul is simply passing through. That the picture my daughter sees of our family is not a fairytale. What we have is a crown worth living for. It is beyond a pretty tiara or a handsome king. That the crowns I am living for are held where moth and rust cannot destroy and thieves cannot break in and steal.
That my deepest desire is that the treasure of my heart will quite simply be to become more like love itself.
To become more like Jesus.
#wingman can’t believe how fast time goes. But also how much life there is to live. Happy. Sad. Ups. Or downs. Enjoy the moment. There will always be people ahead. And there will always be people behind. Lift up the ones below and be humble enough to learn from the ones above. 🌎 #liveinthemoment#family#learn#travel
Though I cannot see the whole path
You illuminate my steps one at a time.
You take hold of these hands and lead me
faithfully towards Your heart.
And beyond the fog and behind the glare you are giving me an eternal perspective.
How do we top this?!?! X's first @cavs 🏀game and he's on the court! Thank you so much @slickroberts21 for treating him and Mic so well!

No longer are the days that I waste my time worrying about what will happen. You can now find me saying phrases such as “surprise me” or “whenever”. I would have never said those type of things in the past. This is how I know there has been a big shift. 👌🏻 #freeofworry#surprises#liveinthemoment#change
me lazy-ing around into a weekend without work 😭😭♥️
I do enjoy my part time job(s) and I love my education but having two days off is v welcome and I can’t tell you how excited I am for a week off in just 9 days 🎉 for two years I was able to just do whatever I want EVERY SINGLE DAY so this is like really new to me.
What are your plans for the weekend? I’m probably staying in (like always) 😂
Im still in need for a motto/ theme for my 21st birthday party (I’m inviting my girls to a night out to 80‘s music and I’m kind of wanting a motto to dress up to?)

Random pic during my commute to school . This was on the NYU campus . I would always look up or down the street whatever , anyway it was dope to see how far the city blocks went. Also, I always saw that travel bus & I would wave at the tourists lol . I got a kick out of it cuz some people would wave back or they would give me a stare at me like why the fuck are you so happy lol . #liveinthemoment#unionsquare#14thstreet#newyorkcity#grind#commute
Some Friday afternoon thoughts.
Living in the moment is an easy philosophy to SAY, but when you’re sitting at a desk at 2pm on Friday, it’s hard not to want for the weekend...
What are your thoughts on living in the moment more genuinely? Any healthy habits you’ve found useful to adopt when slipping into the wanting-wanting-gimme-more mindset? Comments are open for all. 😌✨
When defining focus, one often refers to focusing on a goal or a destination. Focusing on the end game is necessary to some degree in order to achieve accomplishments, but the true focus that is needed when moving toward attainment must begin in each moment. .
See in order to reach goals or complete tasks, ultimately achieving dreams, you must first learn to bring your focus continuously into the present moment. Focusing exclusively on self love. It is only in the practice of recognizing your worth, moment to moment, that one can achieve and more importantly share ustain their goals & dreams. Sustain being the key phrase. When we loose focus on loving ourself in the moment, we lose our connection to universe and all that we’ve attained and wish to attain. We create separation from our true selves and as a result we ultimately move away from that in which we’re working to achieve. Things become more difficult & the work requires more effort. We tire more easily & each step forward begins to feel more challenging & even labored. In turn, consequently possibly never reaching our goals or feeling unfulfilled even if we do. We were intended to move through this life with grace and ease. Living with a sense of freedom & joy in all we do. It is only in these moments of lack where fear and doubt can survive & struggle begins. .
So if your noticing your struggling to achieve, I invite you to begin focusing more in the moment. Use moments of lack as lessons. Accept them, forgive yourself for them & in the next moment shift your focus back to a place of self love. Focusing on gratitude for all that you are, all that you are possible of achieving & all that was intended for you. You were created to thrive, not merely survive. Focusing on one moment at a time is where all your dreams may become your reality.
Stop searching for the perfect life, it doesn’t exist. Instead, learn to find the wonderful in your life now. There is always so much beauty around us. Not only in nature, but in the relationships we build with others. Never take those around you for granted, our tomorrows are never promised. Be grateful for this life. 💕✨
