Wellness Wednesday! Er, wait, no it’s already Thursday! Thoughtfulness Thursday? Regardless, I wanted to share some of my FAVORITE informative, meaningful, wellness and happiness oriented podcasts today. Maybe I’ll do a “fun podcast” post later on but focusing on mindset and happiness are so important I wanted to share these first!
If you have any go-tos please share below! 🎤
For your #winewednesday, a wine producing country that’s no often given a lot of real estate in the textbooks. Listen to Grape Experience’s WSET Certified Instructor @mattswineworld on his podcast Matthew’s World of Wine and Drink discuss Greece and its indigenous grape varieties. My podcast is back, in which I mangle Greek wine terms!
Winemaking (and drinking) in Greece goes back to Ancient Greece - without the Greek influence on the Romans the vine wouldn’t have spread across Europe. However, it’s only in recent years that quality has once again begun to rise. The majority of production is white wine, and quality focuses on Assyrtiko, a grape full of acid and concentration, while there is red wine made from Xinomavro and Agiorgitiko
Greek wine goes beyond the text book, however: the wind on the right is from Limnoia, a black grape found only in a single vineyard beneath a disused vineyard - and it’s one of the best wines I’ve tried in a while
All this and more in the latest episode of my podcast, which can be found on iTunes and SoundCloud
One of the first salon clients that I was fortunate to inherit when I began my journey was Joseph. A well groomed, and energetic man in his 60’s who had been doing hair for nearly twice as long as I was alive! He was never too busy to share an encouraging word, or an interesting story with a wet-behind-the-ears kid just getting started in the industry. He’s enjoying retirement now, but I’ll always appreciate the things I learned from him.

In 2017 I became a big fan of audible books. Currently I am listening to this book read by Michelle Obama herself. I am just loving it! She tells her own story of her humble roots and pursuing an education with a kind of I’ll show you attitude. And of course she continues her story after meeting and falling in love with a young law student that she is monitoring as part of her job in a very large law firm. Can’t wait to listen to more of it!
