It is a surreal experience, to be on the other side of the coin. I am a photographer. Bill and I photograph dogs (and cats), that's our job, and it is a dream and we've worked our tails off for it. Even though I photograph our own dogs constantly, it is a great (and very needed) thing to be on the other side of that experience every once in a while. To be the subject and the recipient of someone else's artistic vision and eye.
our dear friend @jessefreidin came to visit recently, and we spent an idyllic morning out at Corbin's favorite place.
I love to watch him work, a true master of his craft. Letting our dogs be themselves.
The images he gave us took my breath away from the first frame because I saw my heart staring straight back at me.
Wiping my eyes with the biggest tight-throated grin, studying and appreciating each image, I came to find this one, and it was all over. 😭❤️ How on earth could he catch this moment, as perfect as it happened? How on earth was he able to gift me with what I already knew, that these two individuals have loved each other since day one, and that has never changed. One may have gotten taller, the other may have some white around his sweet face, but they are still very much Willow and Corbin: the Wild and the ever patient Saint ❤️ Swipe to see why it was raining from my eyeballs ➡️ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This beautiful portrait and many others to come are by my friend and master artist @jessefreidin
We had such a wonderful weekend with our little pal Henry who stayed with us for structured boarding ☺️ Henry enjoyed daily walks and training sessions and also daily social time with my pack. Henry is a mingler and enjoys being in the presence of other calm and polite dogs but he doesn’t enjoy being pestered or fawned over by the rowdy crowd. So to help Henry feel comfortable with this group, I’ve created a bubble of respect around him meaning that he is off limits to the bigger dogs (they stay outside his bubble of personal space and I remind them as necessary if they get too close) but this is also a two way street so Henry must also be on his best behaviour too and not try to be ‘the fun police’ when the other dogs start playing amongst themselves 😉. That way everyone had a great time and a great experience together! ☺️
Two cuties outside the supermarket today. Obviously both are madly agressive killer machines! They immediately started wiggling their tales when I stopped to say hi, so scary!!! 😱 Seriously though, don't judge a dog by its breed! Funny story: earlier today a met the giant pitbull at my workplace (still dont know his name, memo to me: need to ask next time we met). And I asked about their walk (is that even a normal thing to ask a person?) and the owner told me it was nice until it started raining like crazy. And they had to rush back, not because he didn't wanna get wet, but because the dog is afraid of raindrops. Not afraid of the rain but of the raindrops hitting the ground. This was by far the most hilarious thing I've heard today 😂❤
