HOW YOUR FEET AFFECT YOUR HIPS!!
Many therapists are unaware of the connection between the feet, knees, hip and back! . .
A pronated foot internally rotates your tibia, as a result your knees move in and your femur internally rotates. The head of the greater trochanter applies posterior pressure in the acetabulum which causes your hip to move forward and down. ⤵️ The opposite happens with a supinated foot .
This type of foot posture creates an forward displacement of the center of gravity/anterior scapular plane which causes a variety of symptoms ranging from back pain to gripping toes/circulation problem but also knee and hip pain .
. 🤔So why are we not looking at the feet when it comes to rehab and functional movement programs? .
Because it was once said that to prepare an athlete for the wide variety of activities the analysis of movements should be incorporated into any screening program. . .
This bit of dogma got handed down over time, and still remains in the health and fitness industry .
If you understand that movement relies on the mechanics of the feet you will be one step closer to unlocking 🔒arches, hips and anterior pelvic tilt!! .

The one thing that we are all fighting on earth is gravity. If your center of gravity is shifted too fard forward, you end up wasting energy standing upright .
An aligned posture, allows for greater ease of movement through optimal joint position! (Everything is lined up and moves better 👌🏼)
Most people are unaware that their center of mass is titled forward and that they are at risk of injury
On the LEFT you can see the pelvis is anteriorly tilted and that the lordosis of the lower back is increased projecting the head forward in relation to the pelvis .
On the RIGHT you can see the head and the curves of the lower and upper spine are aligned .
Being aligned has many benefits, ranging form more energy, blood circulation and my personal favorite strength and performance 😁💯 .
