New books in the bibliothèque! Lots of new graphic novels to add to our collection - one of our most popular loan types in the Learning Commons. Beautiful French non-fiction books on nature, animals and the outdoors. Come visit to take a look!
How does the physical space in our LLC contribute to a positive learning environment? Can I observe students self-regulating their learning and understanding what they need to learn? Have I provided all the necessary tools for students to identify and access? #flexibleseating#selfregulation#librarylearningcommons
What a fabulous day spent with Mme Goble and Mme Younge’s Grade 5 classes! Students were introduced to Design Thinking earlier in the week and today, armed with only imagination, cardboard and duct tape, took their designs to the build and tested in the water. Groups had only 15 minutes for a final group design and an hour to build. What a fabulous job by all students!
We explored and experimented with:
Science concepts: the wedge as a simple machine, buoyancy, surface area, density, water displacement.
ADST concepts: almost the entire ADST curriculum!
Core Competencies: Creative and Critical Thinking; Communication. #sd79#sd79learn#cardboard#cardboardboat#prototype#designthinking#cardboardtechniques#grade5#corecompetencies#maker#librarylearningcommons
