If there is one staple in cosmetic formulation, it is the pipette. They are usually made from plastic (many times with phtalates and biphenols), are very difficult to recycle, and tend to go fast (into the trash). I quickly realized that if I want Maison/Made to truly walk the walk about sustainability, I needed to find an alternative for the atelier. That’s how I started working with glass pipettes which have a longer shelf-life because they can be washed, disinfected and reused fairly easily. Yes, it is more time consuming, but it is certainly rewarding to lessen the waste for our Planet. #formulationnotes#labdays#skincareatelier#MaisonMade
Today in anatomy lab we learned how to use microscopes! Thankfully I already knew how to use them from my biology class! 😁 Next anatomy lab we are going to be studying tissues 🤓 this class is by far the hardest class I’ve ever taken but it’s definitely the most rewarding class I’ve ever taken as well. Anyone else taking anatomy this semester?? 💕
Winter solstice takes on a new significance in a place where the daylight varies in length from under 6 hours (today) to over 18 hours in the summer. I’m looking forward to watching the days lengthen! ————————— #wintersolstice#detsnöar#uppsala#labdays
Today I am thankful. -⚠️ warning long winded comment-
For those of you who don’t know I started martial arts purely because I got my a$$ kicked a lot when I was younger. I wanted to protect myself, but soon realized I loved it for so many other things. The struggle of learning and getting better, the humble mentality that you can always get better. One of my favorite, the physical and mental challenge that comes along with it all. But more recently I’ve learned to appreciate the therapeutic side of it. I love the combat sport community that I have grown in, and all the people along the way.
Had a rough ending to the week feeing sick as a dog yesterday. I am thankful for this type of therapy. Thankful for my wife who sent me outta the house to go get a workout in while she watched the kids solo on the weekend. Thankful for @ufcgymmahopac for having an awesome place where I can come to for this type of release. Thankful for @ufcgym for creating this platform for so many others to have this. Thankful for @aires_pt who gave me a few killer rounds of mitt work and truly sparked my old boxing mind to get rolling again.
Had an amazing workout today that was exactly what I needed! It truly is important to have this in your life. Without a vent/release/outlet call it what you want, things would build up and can become a poison. 👊🤙💪
so today was a great day for me.. out of 32 students, I placed #5 on a game quiz. On top of that, I’m getting better at vital signs. (Practice makes perfect).. & I also took a pop quiz which I feel I’ve excelled 🙏🏽. it was a long 7 1/2 hours but well worth every minute #studentnurse#blacknurseskillinit#labdays and #theory 👩🏽⚕️
