Now, I’m not exactly the expert on traveling in cars with kids. I’ve done a lot of it, but not HUGE stretches!!! I’ve started organizing travel packs and in case you’re interested, this is what I’m packing!
🌱 Coloring in
🌱iPads (yeah I’m FOR SURE using technology on 8 hour drives 😂 - don’t even try to guilt me!)
🌱We bought some second hand Nintendo DS consoles! I never had one growing up but I now understand the craze, The Sims on a little handheld device, YES PLEASE!
🌱 I made my own printable “the car game” thank you @gwendolinesims for the epic idea! Comment if you’d like me to share it on the blog to print out for yourself! I even packed binoculars to really add to the game 😂
🌱 Most of these wooden toys were from when I had an online store - chalk phone is from @thetimbatrendandfolk
🌱 photo puzzle game - I found this on Pinterest and it’s entertained the kids for YEARS! You just glue a family photo onto a line of tongue depressors and use a Stanley knife to make them into little strips, the kids then have to rearrange the strips to make the photo whole again!
I’ll wait to attach these @oztrailaustralia car seat organizers for the morning of the trip - the kids are going to go bananas! And also hopefully make less of a mess in the backseat 😂🤞🏽
The other cool thing about Mammoth Cave National Park??
The topside is pretty much as amazing as inside the caves!💚🌳
We did a great 3ish mile loop starting near the historic entrance of the cave. We saw where water comes out if the cave and flows down into the Green River (swipe to see those photos!), old buildings covered in moss and ivy (I love these for some reason), spotted a turtle (see our stories later this evening!!), and learned to identify several species of trees by their leaves!! This was so much fun for all 4 of us, and the kiddos rocked hiking 90% of the way in the heat and humidity!!
When hiking is this good, I never want to leave the trail!
Are there any hikes you’ve done that far exceeded your expectations? Was it the scenery or the fun had by the kiddos that made it memorable??
Have you there done a free tour when on holiday?
We love free tours, mainly because they are free 😊 but also because the atmosphere is more inviting, it is more flexible and people you meet along the way are just incredible. .
London #walkingtours are our fav! However, we recommend @FreeToursbyFoot. It is a super professional friendly team offering a huge variety of tours both in English and Spanish. Every tour is very well-presented and informative. They are also quite helpful and patient with young families, such us.
4000 followers!! 🎉🎉🎉 Thank you so much for your love and support! We are so happy to be providing family travel tips and met so many wonderful families from around the world sharing our love for travel ❤️ 🌍
Taking a break from helping Mummy pick a bunch of flowers from the garden to enjoy a snack just as natural from Rafferty’s Garden!! 💐🥬🍠🧀

Surfing with my mini me 👩👧🏄♀️
I took a social media break this week as it was all about spending quality time with my family doing our favourite things which mainly involved surfing, bodyboarding and rock pooling 🏄♀️ 👨👩👧👦🦀🏖 The surf was small and fun. 😃
Fill your soul up with things that make you smile don’t you agree!? .
A nice cruise thru the Aberdeen Bay. It's open to the ocean, so the water is "fresh" as we say in Chinese. Aberdeen is famous not only to tourists but also to Hong Kong locals for its floating village and floating seafood restaurants. The Tanka people, who used to live on boats in the Aberdeen Harbour, are generally associated with the fishing industry, and there are still several dozens of them living on boats in the harbour.
Only a few more days of school holidays left and we are making the most of this AMAZING Winter weather! Today we ventured to the Perth Hills to hike Lesmurdie Falls and explore some of the countryside. It was so nice to have all three of my kids with me for a change, there seems to be always one who is off with friends these days 🙄
Meet 👨👩👧👧Angela, Aaron, Cora (2) and Gemma (1) from Australia. Their travels are so varied - from misty 🌱botanic gardens in their homeland, through peaks covered in ⛄️snow in German to 🐢turtle spotting in Hawaii. Just think how many wonderful stories their 2 little daughters would have to tell! That photo was taken by the Alpsee lake and this looks like a dream family destination for nature and stunning views lovers! Just check Angela&Aaron account to get more beautiful travel inspirations.
🗨When did you take your daughters for their 1 trip?
💬Cora’s first trip was to Sri Lanka and Maldives when she was 6 months old and Gemma was 3 months old when we went to the Philippines.
🗨What is your favorite travel destination recommended for parents with kids?
💬Our favorite travel destination with kids is hard!!! They have all been amazing and unique. I’d have to pick Sri Lanka! So much variety, beaches, mountains, history, animals!
🗨How do you think your kids benefit from traveling?
💬Our kids benefit from travel in so many ways! We love teaching the girls all about the places we go in a fun way! Cora loves learning the language basics of the countries we go and can already count to 10 in 4 languages! She loves the different modes of transport we use and putting a ‘disney’ spin on the historical sites we visit!
Gemma LOVES animals and spends her days waving at every bird or dog we walk past!
It is also amazing quality family time where we are all together 24/7.
🗨What is the biggest struggle about travelling with kids?
💬So far it has been food, Gemma has an egg allergy so we are constantly checking if things are ok for her to eat and hoping it doesn’t get lost in translation.
Adjusting to time zones can also be tough, but we find the kids adjust quicker and better than we do!
🗨What is the most helpful gadget/stuff when travelling with kids?
💬Definitely a baby carrier and we love using our @kooshykids kooshion on long flights! The kids have been amazing sleepers on planes and I’m sure this has helped massively!
Piazza San Marco is the heart of Venice 🇮🇹 Admire the beautiful architectures of St Mark’s Basilica, Campanile, clock tower and Palazzo Ducale. Closer to the water you will see the church of San Giorgio Maggiore in a distance and many gondolas lined up just like in the postcards
There is enough action in the square to keep children occupied. Yours will likely to enjoy chasing pigeons around this square, although feeding them is no longer legal 🙅🏻♀️🙅🏻♂️ Note for parents: Don’t buy your coffee here! There are many beautiful cafes lining up the piazza with real eye watering prices (We’re talking about more than $20 for a small cup) ☕️ Come summer time you will also have to pay extra for the performers providing background music.

City breaks can seem daunting with small children, but they can be brilliant, I promise! Children love being in new surroundings and cities always offer so much to see and do. •
We have found that the key to having a great time is to plan your activities around the kids regular routine. We try as hard as we can to let them eat at their usual meal times, and sleep at their regular bedtimes. •
We also fill the day bag full of snacks and drinks, because they never stop eating do they! •
Be prepared to change things up to. Having a fixed itinerary can be hard for kids, but changing your plans to fit the energy levels and mood of your kids can be a life saver for everyone. •
This photo was taken on my recent city break (press trip) to #Genoa with @brooklynnisabroad, and she loved her first experience of #Italy . We are counting down the days to our holiday in Seville, so stay tuned for our next city adventure. Do you have any tips for taking #citybreaks with kids?

Yesterday, we had an awesome day hanging around Eguisheim.

Getting back to the Ruislip Lido Beach right in the center of London! This is jewel for #londonexpats and Londonners. The water was so warm, and I am happy we finally were able to try on this cute little hat 😉
We think Venice is best seen from water. “Vaporetto” is Venice’s water bus that goes back and forth the Grand Canal. It runs the complete length of the Grand Canal from Piazza Roma to Piazza San Marco. Children under 6 ride free
This is no ordinary city tour. Parents will enjoy marvelling at the many palazzos belonging to everyone who was anyone in the Gothic and Early Renaissance eras. Kids will be amused spotting the many unique boats along the canal including: police boats, water taxis, crane boats, fresh fruit & vegetable boats, garbage truck boats, and even DHL delivery boats
For best views, head to the outdoor seats at the front of the boat or in the standing only area in the middle

Greece, we love you. They were so excited about these flags I couldn't get a shot of them holding still 🇬🇷🇬🇷
We #lovekiwis !! 💚🥝💛 ~
When I find a fruit the kids love, I run with it 😆😍 This season it’s kiwi from our friends across the Tasman Sea in New Zealand. ~
An easy addition to a healthy breakfast, kiwis are full of flavour & packed with antioxidants, vitamin C & a whole host of other nutrients, much needed during those winter months. ~
Did you know you can even eat the peel? Though the kids prefer it nicely sliced & simply added to their breakfast bowl with banana, yoghurt & granola! 🥝🍌Ready to start the day! 👌😉 ~
How will you eat it? 💚🥝💛 @_love_kiwis_#ad #healthykids#healthysnacks#healthyfamily #familygoals#influencersaus#kidsgoplaces

“The biggest adventure you can ever take is to live the life of your dreams” @oprah .
For me, getting to stand on the Great Wall of China was an absolute dream. To get to experience it with my eldest son was a total out of this world experience. .
Travel for me is about enriching our lives as a family. Showing our kids the world, exploring and learning about new and old cultures. .
Standing on what is probably the most iconic man made structure in the world was just awe inspiring.
We went to the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall. We decided to book our own private driver and guide (through @viatortravel) and it was the best decision.
The day before our trip, our guide had phoned and recommended we leave earlier than the suggested 8.30am start. Allowing around 2 hours for travel, he was concerned it would be crowded. He was so right and we ended up leaving at 7.15am.
This section of the wall is less busy that the one closer to Beijing. But none the less still popular with tons of souvenir places and cafes outside. With new chinese conical hats purchased we made our way to the wall.
Alexander was keen to be able to ride the toboggan which goes down from the wall at this section. So to get up to it we opted for the chair lift.
Unfortunately there was a fair bit of smog initially but this did burn off when the sun made an appearance. The chair lift ride was really fun.
Have you been to the Great Wall of China? Or is it somewhere on your bucket list?

Here we share our golden, sun-drenched morning in Colmar.
The plus of having children who wake up at the first smattering of day glow, is that you get to wander these streets alone without the (gazillion) other tourists •
ad | Genoa is so pretty from every single angle. Visiting here is like dropping a child into real life colouring book with each page telling it’s own story. We loved chatting about all the different places we visited, making new friends of cause trying some incredible food. ad | The beautiful city of Genoa is a perfect destination for a city break with kids. There is so much beauty and adventure to be had in this Italian city, that even the youngest members of the family will enjoy it. •
A visit to the main square in Genoa, Piazza De Ferrari, is a must with kids. Pack a towel in your day bag and let the kids play to their hearts content while you soak of the beautiful surroundings. There are so many stunning historic buildings in this one spot, that your only problem will be tearing yourself away. I could have stared at every detail of the Palazzo della Borsa for hours as Brook splashed in the fountains with her friends. This neo-sixteenth-century style building is actually the local Chamber of Commerce building, but it feels like it should be something more romantic. •

A little classroom inspiration from @the.wandering.hurlburts 📷... apparently a train barrels right through this little stretch of shops and cafés... people just hold tight and then resume their day. Twice a day. Thank you guys for sharing this little bit of your adventure with us 💕
Immersion in culture is breath to the traveler... Water to the wanderer and books to the student.
