I hear quite often as a trainer and as a coach (especially from women) that they CANT join a gym or do a program because 1. They don’t know how to do anything and 2. They don’t have the experience that others have and think they’re going to look silly..🤷🏼♀️
Here’s the thing- the guy or gal that you’re watching doing a million pushups, bench pressing 100s of lbs , squatting like a pro or deadlifting 100s of lbs ALL started with a Day 1 and all started at 0.
I remember two years ago, when I STARTED I couldn’t do floor lying leg raises. Something so bloody simple in my eyes..I couldn’t do 1. I’d like to think of myself as a pro nowadays when it comes to lying leg raises. 😂😎 🤚🏻Because you don’t need to be extreme- you just need consistency. Happy Monday! 🤩 Another workout in the books and I’m feeling stronger every day. 🤗 💪🏼 The only drawback I have about working out at home is the post workout cleanup. 😜 Can I get an amen? 🙌🏼 Most people don’t have a dedicated workout room to take care of business so what’s a gal to do? 🤔 I’m glad you asked. Lol 😂 You have to improvise. Living room by day...and voila - workout space by night. 👏🏼👍🏼You don’t need much space at all to get the job done. Living room, bedroom, den, garage, front yard, backyard, etc. - it really doesn’t matter. Just get the job done. Always trust your instincts. If something doesn’t feel right then just don’t go there. This is especially true if you get that feeling that a potential client is not quite right for you. Here’s what will happen if you say yes only for the money - you won’t enjoy the experience, the work will slip down your priority list and suddenly you find you are not as prepared as your should be, then panic hits in, you find it hard to motivate yourself to work on this event, this is when mistakes happen, mistakes are troubling and sometimes costly both in terms of finances and reputation. Yes, yes, hell to the yes 🙌🙌. Have you have been dreaming about starting a new project, a new business, going after that ‘dream job’ whatever ‘that thing’ is for you……BUT you have been stuck in a state of fear, of over analysis paralysis, of driving yourself nuts overthinking “what if it doesn’t work out, what if I don’t have what it takes”? 🤯 Yes? Alright well if this is you right now consider this your kick up your old (not literally) ass to just stop it 👊. You can choose today to just go for it. You can choose to take one small step (or big one if that’s your style) right now to get moving in the direction of your dreams/goals. It really is just a choice 🤷♀️. You can choose to act in spite of your fears. If it doesn’t work out so what, at least you can say you’ve given it a go and more importantly you prove to yourself that you did it, you took action (regardless of the outcome). Do you know that when you consistently do the things you are scared of it strengthens your neural pathways in your brain 🧠🤓 you then start to cultivate true confidence and belief in yourself……and that my gorgeous girl, is where the gold is…….✨💋
When we don’t know how to do something, it’s probably going to feel hard. So let me ask you - have you ever gone through letting go of your kid before? Packed them up and moved them out of your home? If you’re answering no, I’m thinking this letting go thing is going to feel really, really hard for you. It was pretty bewildering for me.
What if I told you that you’ll eventually adjust? How long will that take, you’re asking? ...

A dear friend encouraged me to join him to study and write the dreaded 14 exams of EASA Pilot’s licence about 13 years ago and I thought, “why not” ? As soon as I saw the study materials though, I ran away. I said to myself, “ Well, I don’t need EASA, it’s not like I’m ever going to fly in Europe “ . Yeah, yeah, I ‘chickened’ out 😏. About 10 years later, I found myself in Europe with 2 choices, find a job in the Middle East or quit flying. Oh no, writing the EASA wasn’t one of them 😓. Just the thought of those 14 gigantic books drove me to boogeyman land. This same friend came again and encouraged me to write the EASA ATPL exams. I gave every reason why it was an impossible task plus I have two young children to look after but he made me feel like they were flimsy excuses ( “yeah🤨, easy for you to say, you are a guy”, or so I thought ). I did start the process but kept looking for a job in the Middle East and Asia so I could give up on this #missionimpossible . With great support and encouragement from family and friends I passed all 14 exams on first sitting and even though my next hurdles were ahead of me, EASA was officially conquered! Sometimes we need to conquer our fears and oftentimes we cannot do it alone. You have to filter through all the noise and listen to that voice telling you that you can do it. Hard work alone, sometimes might not cut it, you also have to believe! Hear my voice “👉🏽You can do it” ! How to do it: Place your left foot on a bench or step, keeping your toes pointed, your foot flexed, and pressure penetrating the ball of your right foot [and the top of your left foot]. Once in position, descend under control until your left knee just about touches the floor and drive back up through your right leg to the starting position. Person B says, well I have work to get done or I didn’t have time.⠀
Granted there’s a lot that goes into changing your lifestyle and that’s why you have coaches to help give you the strategy and support ⠀
BUT it won’t work until you START making it a PRIORITY.⠀
When’s the last time you tried eating right or working out....and you just always find yourself falling off track?⠀
For me years ago, it was every few days it seemed like!⠀
UNTIL! I changed the way I looked at my health. ⠀
I valued myself enough to make this a LIFESTYLE change!⠀

Today is a new beginning.
I let anxiety and excuses take over me.
I lost my groove.
Which truly breaks my heart.
But than I realized , no one else is in charge of me getting that groove back.
So I’m starting where I know how.
By getting my nutrition and workout routine back in place.

It felt so nice to step outside to the cool damp air following a butt kicker workout today. Thank God for Mondays and fresh starts! I’ve been out of a morning routine for quite some time and today I committed to getting back into it! I know I see people all the time commit to a workout routine or a new habit and then fall off after a few weeks or even a few days. I’m guilty myself this summer! I’m certainly not going to boast about my ability to finish what I start...I’ve only completed two fitness programs start to finish in the last 15 months! But I’m learning to enjoy the journey, just keep moving, and commit to the process rather than any one destination. “Results” are not a high priority at this point in my life, but they are a nice bonus! If you’re ready to join me, we can start over and over again together, & at some point you’ll get hooked and find joy in the journey, too. Are you ready?!

Does anyone else have the worst procrastination and most lack of decision making skills when it comes to planning travel? I don’t know what is wrong with me but I become paralyzed by too many options, big price tags, and when is the best time to go. And then what ends up happening is, we don’t go!
As terrible as my anxiety is when planning, I’m becoming more worried that life experiences are passing us by. It’s so ridiculous too because anytime we’ve stopped the hesitation and dove head first in booking - we’ve been so relieved and had the BEST time!! So my goal is to have a location selected and dates blocked out by end of the month.
Soooo...any suggestions?!? We are looking for kid focused, excursions, warm, and about a week long. Please help!!
You know how sometimes you start a new sketchbook and you have all these choices to make? What will I draw on the first page? Which marker will I use? It can be almost paralyzing!!
