It’s was a slow one but also a long one! My run that is 🏃🏼♀️ I can’t run long very often (foot) but it helps if I go slow. Super happy to get in 6 miles - on a treadmill no less!! Tonight did Liift4 week 7 Day 1 chest & back circuit!
When it’s Monday and you’ve been stuck in an office watching it rain for hours and hours, the struggle to get on the dreadmill was REAL!! But those 4 miles felt so good, and it actually got me super motivated to get up early and do it again tomorrow. Monday’s motivation- just do it!! Make it a great week friends! Getting back photos from the @aucklandmarathon charity run I did for guide dogs NZ, I’m surprised with how happy I’m looking at the last 3km point from the finish. 😂 It was definitely a worthy experience to raise $1,300 for a cause in need, I’m feeling so grateful for the friends and family who supported me and helped me raise funds for @guidedogsnz. I’m looking forward to setting new running & fitness goals for next year 🏃🏻♀️♥️
#medalMonday I’d like to say that I’m super proud of this medal, and that it has a lot of meaning to me. I think that in a way it does but I’m having a difficult time seeing it. I’m going to be super real right now. I don’t feel as accomplished as I should after yesterday’s race. I have no idea why that is. I made a goal and I achieved it. I should be stoked but I’m not. I tend to focus on everything I should have done that I didn’t do. What I should have done differently to make the race more enjoyable. It was a tough race for me. I really wanted to feel a lot better near the end and at the finish than I did. I don’t know if it had anything to do with the lack of sunshine. It definitely had something to do with the lack of core work. I know what I need to focus on moving forward, so that’s great. I’m hopeful that I just need to let it all sink in still.
I also know that I love my @hokaoneone Clifton 5’s! They were super supportive the entire race. Last year I injured myself during this race. Mainly because of 1) improper shoes (I was wearing the wrong size and type for my foot. 🤦🏼♀️) and 2) I didn’t listen to my body (screaming pain in my foot but I pressed on, resulting in being out for 4-6 weeks and missing the Houston marathon.) I’ve learned a lot in the last year of running, and I have plenty more to learn. I’m thankful for @cypressrunningclub and the friends I’ve made there. They make the journey that much more enjoyable.
Did you earn a medal this weekend?
Happy Monday💙 Today was the first time in a week that I woke up after the sun. I feel refreshed☀️
📝Run notes: Gaaah...I was seriously tempted to run 1.2 miles so I could see a 60 in my turquoise bubble😂 I didn’t run on Monday or Tuesday, so almost 60 miles in 5 days is something to celebrate. Glad I conquered my ego. #runstrong#rungirl
