We are excited to announce our theme for 2019 Teen Camps!
This year the theme is Fearless.
Joshua 1:9 says
"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” We are planning some great things for camp this year and as the weeks get closer, we'll keep you updated! #IAmFairmount#SrHigh#JrHigh#Fearless19
JR High Nerf Warz!!! This Friday February 22nd, 7pm-8:30pm @ North Park Covenant Church! Snacks will be provided!
Also no need to bring Nerf Guns, plenty will be provided!
For anyone else watching @pen15show and feeling triggered by the realness - here’s me in 8th grade, rocking puka shells, my retainer, the earrings I got my ears pierced with, those comma eyebrows, and my favorite Hang Ten tank top (not visible). #pen15show#jrhigh#8thgrade#2000sfashion
🤚Agree? Double Tap😍 ❤️One of the best things about teaching #middleschool is that we can share that failure means you’ve tried. 💡Now we have to go from only trying to executing at a HIGH LEVEL. ✅Executing with a desire to LEARN not just earn the grade. ✅Executing with a desire to BECOME the person who you know you want to be. ✅Executing to be the FRIEND to the person who no one else wants to befriend. ✅Executing with a FOCUS that can’t be broken by distraction. 😁FAILURE is okay a few times but are we learning from it? Or are we just accepting it?

Our son lately has been struggling lately. This pre-teen stage is confusing, overwhelming, and a worry for him. This next school year he will be going into Jr. High. Different building, different atmosphere, and workload will be more. At times I think the thought of what lies ahead gives him great anxiety.
I remember this jump in my life. This one, and the one from Jr High to High School. Getting older. It can be scary at times.
We assure him that he has people to fall on when he struggles. To never hold in what is bothering him. He's too much like his dad in a way. Keep it in as long as you can. From day one our boy has been a schedule kid, never venture outside of the usual routines. If you change how something is done, he freaks out! Ok, maybe doesn't FREAK out, but he doesn't like it. He is also very hard headed! See his issue? Change is coming. Change is here.
How did you handle this jump in school and getting older?
