Compatibility with the post is an important aspect that each employee should prioritize. Let's assume you get a very good job and that would propel your career to the next level, but that would mean to quit the current job, that you like, for a job not exactly that you enjoy very much but better paid. What would you choose? 🤔 Always think long-term and make the right choice for you.
A good curriculum vitae should ideally cover no more than two pages and never more than three. Aim to ensure the content is clear, structured, concise and relevant. Using bullet points rather than full sentences can help minimize word usage.
When building a career path, it is important to start somewhere and take opportunities as they come. Sometimes your first job in your chosen industry isn’t your first choice — but it’s more important to get your foot in the door. Today’s #TipTuesday quote is from Flody Suarez, a television executive, who's executive produced several shows including, "Rise," "The Book of Daniel," and "The Tick." .
At our screening of Rise, Suarez encouraged young people trying to break into a new industry to take any opportunity that comes your way. Working your way up from the bottom teaches you a lot of valuable lessons about how that industry works and practical working skills. .
Another perk of getting your foot in the door in your desired industry is networking. Even an entry-level position will introduce you to people in your field, which can help you build a network of people who you can work with in the future. Maintaining relationships with your peers and colleagues is an essential part of growth and success in your career. .
First impressions are crucial, but did you know even the smallest mistake can alter someone's opinion of you? 🤝 Read our latest BLOG below on how to make a great first impression; link is in our bio! 😁
Been having challenges converting interviews -> offers. I know that for some people, "man with long hair" =
So...hair grows back, and in my case, it grows fast. So I decided to cut it from its "he's just a lazy, dirty hippie that has an Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test every weekend" length. Hopefully this helps... 🤔😕 #haircut#removingvariables#jobsearch#nosimpleroad#thereisnodignity

Kenzie loves her life in Delaware County, Iowa ever since she moved here as a newcomer in 2016.
"I am originally from Columbus Junction, a small town in southeast Iowa. After I graduated High School from Columbus Community, I decided to continue my education at Iowa State University. I majored in Communication Studies with minors in Event Management and Journalism.
During my internship at the Louisa County Extension Office, I coordinated and taught summer day camps for kids. I absolutely loved working with youth and seeing the excitement on the kids’ faces when they learned something new. It was fun to work behind the scenes and give back to an organization [4-H] that taught me so much. After this internship I knew I wanted to work with the 4-H program and youth.
After graduating from ISU in 2016, a position for the County Youth Coordinator in Delaware County opened up.
In July of 2016, I started my first “big girl” job as the County Youth Coordinator for ISU Extension and Outreach in Delaware County. My third day of work was the start of the 2016 Delaware County Fair! It was exciting to meet so many hardworking and friendly people at the fair. Since then, I have gotten a couple years under my belt as the County Youth Coordinator and feel much more at home.
I am very passionate about my job and strive to do my best every day. I love the 4-H program and all it represents. I like being able to draw from my past 4-H experiences to help youth grow as people and reach their full potential. I look back now and I am very appreciative of those experiences because they shaped who I am today. It’s exciting for me to see other youth going through the same experience and I get a small part in that.
I feel very fortunate to live and work in such an amazing community. I had never heard of Manchester or Delaware County before I moved here, but I can truly say I have never felt more at home. It isn’t easy to move to a new place by yourself. I am so thankful for the people of Delaware County making me feel welcome. I am looking forward to the future in Delaware County!"
