To the woman with the biggest heart and the most unwavering poise in the face of adversity... but also the quirkiest sense of humor and the strongest emoji game of any Korean ahjumma ever 😚💃🏼🤣😊❤️💯, happy Mother’s Day. Thank you for being my greatest cheerleader. 사랑해요 그리고 고마워요 💐

I know people may roll their eyes when they see dog mom posts on Mother’s Day... but having gone through the ups and downs with Dexter this past week (he had to be hospitalized at the vet, had an X-ray, had an ultrasound, was tested for so many things), Dex is really like our child. We do everything in the world for him, we cheer on his successes, we are there for him when he isn’t doing so well, and we love him unconditionally. I never experienced that kind of non-toxic love before in a parent-child format.
Mother’s Day and Father’s Day has always been a weird day for me. On those days, I see a flood of social media posts // ads that generalize the love of all parents. How great all parents are... and I’m so happy (genuinely) that there are good parents out there. But we aren’t all so lucky. So to the ones who are lucky, cherish your parents as much as you can, while they are still here.... and for the unlucky ones, I empathize with you. I feel for you. Know you aren’t alone. You are your beautiful self not because of someone, but despite your circumstances.
One year ago today I found my dress... and I was just as obsessed with it throughout my entire wedding day as I was the moment I put it on!
I wore my dress (and heels) until 2am, and if it was socially acceptable... I probably would have worn it to brunch the next morning 🤣
This dress made me feel beautiful and confident — regardless of what size I bought the dress in, OR my curvy figure... and I truly felt like there wasn’t ONE THING that I would have changed about the dress or my body.
As women, society has done such damage to our minds and how we perceive our beauty.
Why is it that we look at ourselves as a size 12 in the mirror and feel shame or imperfection?
Why can’t someone sport a bikini, WITHOUT abs, and still be considered healthy + fit?
We deserve to feel like we do in our wedding dresses EVERY DAY and I cannot scream this loud enough.
Getting your heart pumping on a regular basis is important and we should all try to fit it in (blah, blah, you hear this from half the IG community)... BUT the consistent routine we truly need, is to work on our mentality, acceptance, and positivity about our own body.
I challenge you to find a mirror, look at yourself and repeat: “MY BODY IS BEAUTIFUL THE WAY IT IS” and repeat it every day when you look in the mirror when you get dressed. Let’s change the way women are “expected” to be... because truth is: however you are, is exactly right.
Weather prediction: rain all day...
Actual weather: Sunny, clear skies, and 60 degrees! 😍😍😍
I am starting something new on here, if you didn’t catch my stories the other day, and every Friday I will be posting my “Friday Faves” with tags/links (maybe discount codes if I can snag some) to whatever items I have been loving that week!
I am so excited for this... I liveeee for buying/trying new products and I love sharing the good stuff with y’all!
So keep an eye out tomorrow for this weeks line up!
Going forward, what types of products would you like to see?
+ make up?
+ hair care?
+ home decor?
