My Life In Cars
Due to financial circumstances we had to sell the M3. My brother had bought this gray Isuzu Rodeo but I ended up taking over the payment and it became mine. My first car, (technically a truck) mostly paid for by myself. Isuzu is known for building commercial trucks so when the SUV market was heating up it probably wanted some of that action. The overall design wasn’t bad, it was nicely balanced and somewhat handsome. But unlike the Toyotas and Nissans of its day the interior felt cheap. The four cylinder engine didn’t help; even if it was mated to a five speed manual. Once I was about to embark on a road trip and on the freeway on-ramp the head gasket blew. The truck only had 80K miles.
A UD (previously known as Nissan Diesel, former division of Nissan, later acquired by AB Volvo) Quon CG 8x4 mounted with a Fassi F580.24 loader crane and loading ramps.
The UD name was originally used for the company's Uniflow Diesel Engine (a two-stroke diesel engine), developed in 1955, but is now marketed as meaning "Ultimate Dependability"
