Tsutenkaku Tower seen from a street in the Shinsekai area of Osaka
The tower stands at a height of 103m with the main observation deck being at 91m. The tower seen in the photo was opened in 1956. However, the original structure, which was built in 1912, had to be disassembled due to a fire causing severe damage to it in 1943. The steel from the original tower was, in turn, used to help fuel the Japanese war effort.
