Then vs now.
Trying to be my own motivation.
In the first photo I was younger although I also lived across the road from the beach and I was always active without thinking much of it.
Fast forward to 2 years and I had moved 2 hours from the beach into a little town and found it quite awkward to go for a walk, everyone knew everyone.
Fast forward to the last 2-3 years where I’ve gotten stuck in an inactive, somewhat unhealthy lifestyle, then been diagnosed with PCOS.
It’s about time it changed, and I pushed for that better, healthier version of myself !

There are definitely more nutritious snacking options than this assortment of biscuits. But there’s a reason you’ve heard of all (or most of) these items. It is unequivocally because people enjoy consuming them. Therefore, instead of assuming biscuits are nutritionally deadly, we are better placed to understand their relationship inclusive of our overall nutritional compass. A compass that includes balance of micronutrients, optimal energy intake for one’s needs and satisfaction. Additionally, to simply appreciate that a biscuit tastes good, but that it is accounted for.
That said, it is easy to see how consumption of multiple biscuits in short periods of time can quickly contribute to excessive caloric consumption. For example; consuming 6 chocolate digestives in one day (which takes a combined total of 250 seconds), adds 510 calories to one’s daily intake. Though this can be facilitated, it is a large chunk of most individual’s daily energy intake. Being aware of lower calorie choices which allow us to consume similar portion sizes means that one does not have to change learned behaviour as such, but instead strategically supports their energy intake better.
Understand that whilst there are more nutritious snacking options such as fruit and nuts, biscuits can absolutely be a valid option if the overall diet is universally supportive of it’s respective elements. The key driver is awareness and adherence to ensure that progress is always possible. 🙂🍪 -

Today we're going to cover how to, what to avoid and squat myths.
Let's get right into it.
✅Start with feet shoulder width apart.
✅Toes should point slightly outward to about 45 ish degrees.
✅Push your knees out and keep your knees directly over your toes as you lower yourself into the bottom position.
✅Push through your whole foot to return to to the start position
🚫Back rounding of any kind.
🚫Heels lifting off the floor.
🚫Stance too wide or too narrow.
⁉️Knees past your toes are bad... No, this is perfectly fine.
⁉️Leaning too far forward is bad... No, this is perfectly fine as long as there is no rounding in your back
⁉️Squats are bad for my knees... No, being overweight is bad for your knees, go squat.

Ok. I'm back. I've changed my username a million times over the last couple of years because honestly, I had no idea how I was going to maintain a fit lifestyle as a mom. I was embarrassed (still am) and kind of ashamed. I worked so hard for years only to fall back so far (I felt) that I really had no idea how I was going to jump back into things. Not to mention, at the time, I was living in a small mountain community with no nearby gym (and I was irrationally convinced that I'd be attacked by a bear if I went running around the neighborhood...lol). So, for those of you that don't know me... Hello, my name is Jules. I created my first-ever Instagram account in 2012 as @weightlossjules. I went from 176lbs to 130lbs in about 2 years or so. In 2015, I got pregnant with my first and naturally, gained weight. That coupled with being far from a gym (and scared of being eaten by a mountain lion...lol). Two kids later and I'm ready to officially get back on track as @weightlossjules and share this new journey with you. No more "hiding" behind some new username that I change every week. 😂
Yes, I'm a mom. And YES, things are much harder now than they were before....but I CAN do this and I'm hoping I'll be able to show you that you can too.
