EKTACHROME BABY!!! I’ve been waiting for this for almost 2 years. When Kodak said they were bringing it back I couldn’t help but imagine a world where they bring it back in every format, even motion picture! While we are still dreaming of that we still get the 35mm Still stock and I LOVE IT. The nuances in skin tone are so appealing. Most certainly has a bit more range than the Fuji slide films. I’ve been shooting a lot of medium format lately and most of my lenses are super slow. I got so sick of having to put down my camera because I didn’t have a fast enough lens. When ektachrome came out I was desperate to get a fast lens. I found myself a Nikkor 50mm 1.2! While it was so nice to be able to take pics like this one as the sun has passed me by, the 1.2 is paper thin. Almost to the point I wasn’t sure If I really liked the results. But I’ve kind of accepted that the lens just has a dreamy quality when WFO. Pretty par for the course but either way it’s a nice option. This is my Brother in law with my nephew Ivan. As you can imagine it was hard to get his attention.
And a few months later, I finally developed the roll of film that’s been sitting in my medium format camera (12exp 😑). I shared a few shots as well some ways to get out of default in a resent blog. I’m a recovering perfectionist—or at least in the process of—and I felt the need to share a few quick thoughts on getting out of default and setting good habits for this year. // LINK IN BIO ☝🏾 #ibcreates#dashthoughts™
