Ilvermorny school of witchcraft and wizardry would be where I would go if I couldn’t go to Hogwarts. It’s only 4 hours from where I live so why not. 🤷🏼♀️☘️ .
Where would you go?

“The word witch comes from (wit) “to know,” and means “wise woman.” Their gods and goddesses lived in bushes, holy wells, and in sacred groves and were to be found in all aspects of nature. She was not accountable to a heirarchy.” Excerpt from Serpent and the Goddess” by Mary Condren, an Irish Carmelite nun and professor of Gender studies at Trinity College, Dublin. We are currently reading and reflecting on this book in my year long mystery school as we begin to spiral ever closer to initiation in Ireland over Samhain.
Are you feeling called to reclaim your divine connection to nature, to remember your essence through myth, to tend to the Earth re-memorying the old ways as we connect to the Otherworld? A new cycle of mystery school begins mid November. Link in bio.
The National Museum of Ireland holds an amazing collection of bronze & gold jewellery pieces. Each piece made by skilled craftspeople from our past. Prehistoric Irish goldwork dates back to 2200bc!!! Here are a few pictures from my recent visit ❤
My maiden name is FitzGerald, and you better get that capital “G” in there or else you’ve misspelled my name.
All my life, I’ve been drawn to all things Ireland. Being mesmerized by a VHS of Riverdance, is an early, childhood memory (& something my 4 year old now does!). The beginning of a long infatuation with the Emerald Isle, specifically its history being one of my favorite subjects.
When I got my DNA results, I was so excited to see a better picture of my heritage. A sad thing for my family, no one knows anything whatsoever about where we came from or of those who got us here. It was a frequent topic for my late Papaw & I, something we pondered over together. It was my hope to find the answers to those questions for him, and am still determined to do even though I won’t be able to share them with him. And while I have a few of those answers, my brick wall still stands.
My Ireland roots have been so hard to find, and I know they are out there waiting to be discovered, as I’ve found small traces of them, over time. It’s my hope to travel there with those answers, one day, and with a better understanding of who had a hand in bringing me to life. It’s my wish to be able to honor the sacrifices made by those who came before me, through learning their stories & the times they lived in. #dnagetawaycontest@ancestry
Having a tough time. Sat sun and today. Just recognizing that my inner dialogue is not wanting me to push forward too much longer. It’s wonderful to hear the support from all of you. This thing is mighty strong tho. I’m trying to fight but who knows. There’s lots of positive stuff out there ahead for me if I can get pst this point tho. I need to look forward to that. Helping out with ncarb soon. Traveling overseas again one day. Researching my family Irish roots. Applying for some research grants. Finishing my are. Staying sober and helping others who feel as worthless as I do. Reminding people they are loved allows me to rep the benefits. #struggle#depression#suicideprevention#sad#irishroots#ARE#ncarb#selfcare#imnotreadytogo#imnotokay#depressionhelp#survive
People think I’m always motivated, that I always want to work out, that I always want to eat healthy and be positive. Let’s be real...it’s not always unicorns 🦄 rainbows 🌈 and sunshine ☀️ over here. There are days, like today, that I don’t feel like doing anything at all. I have no motivation today. I have no desire to push play. I have no positive mojo today. I’m allowed to have days like this and so are you. I think it’s just important to recognize it, use the tools you have to get through it and come out on the other side. The old ME would have continued this attitude for days maybe even weeks. The old ME would have treated myself pretty bad - talked to myself horribly, ate crappy food just for the instant gratification and drank too much just to feel better temporarily. The new ME took a deep breath many many times today. The new ME thought about all the things I’m grateful for in my life right now. The new ME pushed play and sweated it out for 30 minutes and then enjoyed a healthy yummy dinner. #committoyou #committo100 #usethetools #westartonmonday
Kilmood is somewhere that mum & I are always drawn back to. My mum’s dad grew up across the street from St Mary’s and it remained an important place for him. It is a really quiet spot and a beautiful church. Nice to keep revisiting those roots and memories.

We love this pendant for its hidden detail 🔎 If you look closely at the foliage - you may recognise the shape as the silhouette of Ireland itself! 🇮🇪 This creative combination of the island of Ireland and the Tree of Life symbol evokes ideas of Irish roots and ancestry. Making this piece ideal for anyone researching their Irish family tree! On the reverse side of the pendant you can see celtic triskele design - similar to the designs found on the ancient kerbstone at Newgrange in County Meath! One inch wide and crafted in sterling Silver, this piece makes an ideal gift for Irish people around the world. 🎁
Totally stoked right now. 🤩 After finding more Irish & Welsh ancestors & if my calculations are correct with the research I've found, I'm actually more Irish than English. 👏 Thought I was just a tiny bit Irish from a grandad 😆 I'm a lot more. 43.7% 🇮🇪 42.3% 🏴 & 14% 🏴 Mind blowing stuff family research. 🤯 I also suspect some Greek or Italian somewhere, some family members are very Mediterranean looking. #irish#ireland#irishroots#irishpride#stackname#english#england#welsh#wales#welshroots
It also makes my kids such a mish mash of stuff. 🇵🇰🏴🇮🇪🏴 ??🇬🇷🇮🇹??
Celebrating my first #4thofjuly as a US Citizen 🇺🇸 •
While I will forever be proud and grounded by my #irishroots , I will also be forever grateful to this beautiful, complex nation.
Over the past few years I have watched as this country has become divided. I have shed tears reading the news that yet another life has been lost to gun violence. I have been disgusted at witnessing some of the hate that exists towards minority groups and I have been heart broken looking at faces of innocent children locked up in cages, BUT, in the last few years I have also seen more people stand up for what I believe is right than I have ever seen or learned about from history books. I have seen more people unite and battle for actual freedom. I have heard people fight back and feel worthy of being themselves and I have marched alongside hundreds of thousands of Americans and immigrants alike who believe in this great country.
Like many things, the USA has a lot of work to do but I remain optimistic. Hoping for change is not an impaired form of emotion, hoping insures a land of opportunity, liberty and freedom. 💙❤️
Happy Birthday America 🇺🇸 and thank you for challenging me to grow and allowing me freedom and opportunity to find and be myself. #anirishinamerica#irishballerina#usa#independenceday#freedom#ballet#ballerina#balletpost#dancer

EDIT: 💚SOLD💚I just love the pretty soft green of these Chrysoprase gems. I thought they would be the perfect stone choice for St. Patrick’s Day coming up. The only thing that’s missing is a cute shamrock charm! I’m still trying to decide if I should add one. 💚☘️💚 It’s almost midnight here so watch for this beauty to be added to my shop tomorrow after I get some Zzzzz. 😴
