Ne jamais hésité à chausser les baskets...Si tu laisse s'insinuer dans ta tête que peeeeeeeuuuuut être il y aurait une chance que tu n'ai pas vraiment envie d'allé courir, que tu n'as pas trop le temps et qu'en plus il te reste encore une lessive à étendre et que ÇA c'est urgent 😚.... c'est mort pour ton run !!
Alors ne réfléchis pas, habille toi, mets tes baskets et go!! Même 15min... pense à toi, le reste attendra 😉.
Bref hier soir j'ai couru 5.8km et comme d'hab j'ai kiffé 🤗.

Last few days before the marathon and I’ve missed a run this week. I am hoping it’s too late to make much difference now but I’m rescheduling it for tomorrow. I’ve been reading Brené Brown (again) this week - her work changed my life - and in particular, the Roosevelt quote in the epigraph of Daring Greatly:
“It is not the critic who counts; nor the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena; who strives valiantly; who errs, who comes short again and again ... who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement, and who in the worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly.”
Runners, let us dare greatly. Let us shrug off the comments about our speed, our failures, our bodies, whether we’re ‘proper’ runners. Let us know what it is like to fail and what it is like to experience the triumph of high achievement. Let us run because we can. Because we get to choose to do this. Because of the memories we’ll make. (And maybe for the medals we’ll get 😉) And let me get round this marathon in one piece!

I will be forever grateful to live so close to the Nassau-Suffolk Greenbelt trail. Going for a Sunday long run there is a little bit of calm for me in the midst of the constant craziness of New York.

Performance community member Isabelle Maria's retest results are in! 🎊🎉🥳
Izzy is targeting the 100K Race to the Stones in July and the results confirm that she is absolutely smashing her training!
Ultramarathons are typically ran below lactate threshold as this enables the body to draw most of its energy from body fat, rather than carbohydrates. .
It is for this reason that we encouraged Izzy to spend a lot of time running slowly - paaaainfully slowly! - but as you can see from the results, her commitment has paid off.
Not only has her pace at lactate threshold improved by almost 1.5 minutes, but the volume of lactate produced at this quicker pace has actually dropped!

Medal Monday! Course PR for me on a beautiful day. It was sunny 🌞, it was hot 🌡 and I felt like I was going to die 😓😓
A 2:01:23 half marathon on what I find to be a pretty difficult course! Prospect Park took everything out of me so getting down Ocean Parkway in the full sun was a fight to the finish. But there is nothing like running the streets of the five boroughs with the @nyrr
The crowd support was great this year and the sprinklers at the last couple of water stops I think helped me from going in to full blown heat exhaustion. But I would do it all again! Am 03.05. eine neue PB auf den HM geballert, war für mich vor einem Jahr unvorstellbar 😲. Jetzt erstmal 19 Tage Thailand, bestimmt mit dem ein oder anderen kleinen Läufchen... Danach wird wieder angegriffen. Projekt Marathon 2019!
So far my spring break has been super relaxing and fun and it’s not over yet 😁 I finally watched the whole Twilight Saga on Blu Ray, I ate all the snacks in the pantry, I’ve been working on reading a couple books, relaxing in my hammock in our woods, doing some light running here and there, some boxing and strength training at the gym a few times this week, an easy track practice, checking out some trails, some swimming at the gym and soaking up the warm spring sun! Oh, and eating a lot! 😂 I haven’t been on my phone much lately and it was the ultimate way to unwind. It’s really been a great break so far. It’s good to mix things up and unwind. It’s almost like a “reset” on your body and mind. Keep in mind that YOU have to choice to reset that button anytime you want. You’re in charge.
