I have a date with these two tonight. Mandatory spa night! I put my legs through a lot this weekend. While they aren't sore, they are tired. I need a good soaking and relaxation. Running will resume tomorrow!
Amy and I earned a pair of shoes at the Garmin Half Marathon in Olathe Kansas on Saturday. Next Saturday is a full marathon for Amy and another half for me, I have now qualified for the Half Fanatics, but maybe I’m just a little bit 😜 crazy, maybe I’m just a little bit rock n’ roll, who knows?
As I look back on last Monday, I’m really thankful that I was able to finish the race without ending up in the medical tents. I was wet and cold, but not to the point where I was worried about hypothermia. I listened to a clip that discussed the possible reasons some people did better in the rain and cold than others. They discussed the body’s adaptation to training in the cold and how you are less likely to expend energy on shivering if you’ve trained in the cold. Well, I think this past Chicago winter trained me well for that! I also think that my leggings and jacket really helped; even though I was cold and wet, all of my layers helped to keep my core temperature up. I felt overdressed when I saw what everyone else was wearing, but looking back I’m glad I wore what I did! If anything, this race has confirmed that I can run in rain and cold!
Would you rather run in hot or cold conditions? Do you tend to overdress for the conditions?
🔰Boa noite, galera! 🌙💪🏻🙏🏻 🏊🏻♂️ Challenge 70.3 Cerrado - Parte 1/3 🏊🏻♂️
Kkkkk
Energetic as hell. Kind. Polite.
It was a pleasure to kick it with the crew we pulled together for our photo shoot yesterday.
Still basking in the good vibes. Feeling super proud. Pulled it all together. Lots of teamwork and solid communication...and perhaps a wee bit of “over preparedness” 😝😜
But I’m totally cool with that!! This pics are epic, sexy and stunning!! On brand for sure.

I tricked my buddy Jesse into going on a 4 mile trail run this weekend. Really I just wanted to take out my frustrations on him and ruin his average run distance on Strava. Thanks for slimming it with me buddy. #daringgreatly#whatsyourimpossible
#sunrun2018 was a success! It turned out to be a BEAUTIFUL day and I did better than I was hoping for considering I’ve been seriously slacking on the runner lately 😂 Final 10km was 1:09:27 😍

#teambetorenno#maratonadorio2018#runlikeagirl
The next day in Boston after the marathon was really nice, mostly sunny, and a little cloudy later. It was interesting walking down Boylston Street thinking about how rainy it was during the marathon. The weather the next day was so much better.
Most proud #MedalMonday ever! 🌟 ☆ Monday: Boston Marathon - Harshest conditions and slowest time ever but I learned and grew the most. 🙏🏼
☆ Friday: Disney Star Wars 5k - Crossed the finish line with my mom and son. My ♥️ almost burst.
☆ Sunday: Disney Star Wars Half Marathon - First full and half marathon in one week. I told myself to keep it easy and walk if needed but ended up running the whole thing. ⚡️
☆ ☆ Never stop believing. The body can achieve so much more than the mind believes. I doubted my abilities Monday and Wednesday several times. But saying “just a little more” “just one more mile” over and over again turns into a finish line. ☆ ☆
I keep looking at my @misfitwearables app and love seeing 32,084 steps yesterday with running and walking. Anyone else get geeked out about that?! #happydatadance#MisfitPartner#MisfitWearables#runDisney#StarWarsHalfMarathon#BostonMarathon

Been waiting for this #medalmonday for a loooong time 🦄💛💙 My first @bostonmarathon, a day I will never forget! It’s hard to imagine that a week ago I was running through the streets of Boston (dreaming of this post-race donut 🍩😍). Going into the race I wasn’t sure if I’d ever want to run another marathon - at least that’s what I told myself. It’s a lot of hard work, time, sacrifice...I could still race shorter distances and not have to commit so much time. Well, that didn’t last long 😂🤷🏼♀️ Immediately after crossing the finish line, every part of me wanted to go back. Thank you, Boston. You’ve reignited my passion for more🏃🏼♀️🙌🏼🔥I’m not sure when, but I’ll be back 💛
Little known fact about me: I love chess!
◼️ For my 9th birthday, I asked for an electronic chess set and played it all the time.
◻️ My husband is also really into chess and we have a bunch of chess books.
◼️ I used to be a paying member of Chess.com and played many online games.
◻️ We have about 5 chess sets at home, and I think they make for classy decor.
◼️ I’ve always wanted a chess set with zebras as knights but I’ve never found that; I guess it would confuse the players.
◻️ I’ve learned never to play chess against someone who is my boss at work.
◼️ If I know I’m going to lose, I resign.
◻️ My husband typically beats me in un-timed games, but I usually win in timed games.
◼️ I typically focus more on my offense than my defense as I like to develop elaborate plans of attack.
◻️ I LOVE discovered attacks and forking.
◼️ Why are there no chess emojis?! #chess#chessset#checkmate
