#TransformationTuesday! Geez, I can honestly very well remember how I felt to be the guy on the left. Binge eating for the sake of nothing more than just to binge eat. Coming up with excuse after excuse as to why I couldn’t do cardio. Asthma, my work schedule, my stress level, I always had a reason for my laziness. Pffft, I would always have these pains in my upper abdomen and lower back. Funny how once I started running all of those pains went away. Once I stopped kidding myself. It was always one thing or the other, well not anymore. Now my family has grown, my career has grown and my fitness has grown; making me much more productive in all facets of my life. I wish I could say there was a magic pill or shake that did the trick. Nope, it very simply came from a disgust with myself so massive that I gave myself no other choice than to man up and make the necessary changes. 523 consecutive days of exercise. Effort will release its rewards (the changes you desire) only after you refuse to quit. Keep fighting the good fight my friends, I see so many of y’all trying, and your stories inspire me, too! #RelentlessPursuit#BelieveInYOU#ChefMQ
Another chilly morning run and another sweaty T25 Speed 1.0 workout in the evening! 👊🏻
While I was running, I was thinking about some WINTER RUNNING TIPS! ☃️ As I live in Canada and run outside year round, I've learned a few tricks to keep myself comfortable on my runs during the colder weather! 🙌🏻
👚 LAYER UP. It's way better to have on too many layers than not enough!
🧣WEAR A SCARF. I find that my first few colder weather runs tend to be hard on my lungs and it makes a huge difference to my breathing if I keep my chest warm!
💁🏼♀️ PUT VASELINE ON YOUR FACE. I have very sensitive skin so any kind of wind will leave my skin wind-burnt and that hurts. Putting on Vaseline creates a protective layer over your skin!
What’s one of your winter running tips? ❄️
👨🏻 Movember Monthly Mileage: 101.7/215 km
So ummm how do all you northern runners cope? I know I used to do fine in high school... but now I cringe when it gets below 70! Gonna be a cold weekend racing PhiladelphiaMarathon! Nearly 50 collllld race miles on my horizon right now

This is my first time running out in about 5 days due to the air quality. And even then the air is not healthy, so I only ran 2 miles. Trying to prepare for the annual turkey trot but times are hard. I need to utilize a treadmill. BTW I was staring at a dog 💚
Oil Creek 100 has come and gone. With health issues and lack of training this years trip was more about enjoying the experience of running. From camping and exploring the trails around Oil Creek Campgrounds, to exploring Titusville and learning about the early history of the town, meeting new people, and having family along for the journey.
The goal of this race was simple, finish. I knew coming into this particular event, with the elevation, my asthma would be terrible on the hills and so it was. The first 23 km I lead the race feeling comfortable but it was just on one of the big climbs, after the second aid station, I began to have difficulties breathing. I ended up adjusting my pace slower and slower until I could manage to run without having issues breathing. I knew it was going to be a long day for me so I expected this outcome.
We had a lot of rain which made the course wet and muddy. My feet were becoming macerated which caused my feet to hurt severely for the second half of the race. I know how to grind, grind and grind and that’s what I did until my ankle couldn’t walk anymore with 12 miles to go resulting in a very slow limp and dealing with pain going up, down, and on the flats.
Overall, this was my last big race and I enjoyed each moment. The volunteers and aid stations were some of the best and couldn’t be happier to have such supportive people out there helping us. The main goal is to stay hungry. I know I have the potential and these races will be good experience. I have a lot of race planning to do for next year but in the meantime I’ll be trying to get my foot healthy again for The Beav 50 km at Hilton Falls Conservation Area on November 10th. Excited to be apart of this exciting race.
