0xWarriors joining TRON's $100 million blockchain game fund Tron Arcade 👾
Wrote my first #crypto article for 2019 -- I've been very focused on the applications that the #blockchain could have in music and content spaces in the near future.
As the article implies, there's going to be a need for a huge conceptual overhaul in the way we think and design tech products if we want the whole "Web 3.0" thing to become a reality, imo. Along with role-based designs (in an earlier post I made in IG), there's also a need to acknowledge the fundamentals of what makes #money what it is -- the intersection between #wealth and #labor.
I feel a little weird posting this since it talks about what artists' go through in new media environments a lot more candidly than most people probably want to hear. People talk about #fakenews as if it came out of nowhere, but the conditions that allowed for these outcomes have been going on for years so it really shouldn't be a surprise for industry folks trying to solve this (now massive) problem. Luckily cryptocurrency and blockchain projects contain the promise of bringing the quality of Internet media back up to par...but only if we do things in the right way.
I got my first success in crypto through the Ethereum platform so I have my biases but when @aya_sf and @buterin_official talks about "keeping things small", "sustainability over growth" and "bringing balance" to the space, it gives me hope that this time things will be different. The Internet needs to work for everyone, not just a few lucky "winners" who manage to game the system to their advantage.
Also, if you live in Los Angeles and want to chat about this further, let me know. This year I'm looking to get very involved with crypto/blockchain projects in LA so been looking to meet more people in the space.

Before we tackle the concept of a decentralized application, it’s good to really think about what an “application” truly is. Español abajo.
On a basic level, an application is the action of putting something into operation. A good example is a canvas made for painting. In order to use a canvas for its intended purpose (put it into operation) a person appliespaint to it. Speaking in computer terms, the canvas would be called a platform and the painting on it would be an application. Today this word is commonly used to refer to computer (or phone) applications. An example of a common modern computer platform is Windows 10. Common applications for Windows 10 are Microsoft Word, Photoshop, and Google Chrome. A common cell phone platform is Android, common applications for this platform include Instagram, Whatsapp, and Google Maps. Applications are how we put our technology to use. The most popular applications for Bitcoin are as a digital currency or as a digital store of value.
➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖ For definitions of all the confusing crypto terms that have you scratching your head and answers to any other crypto questions you may have, click the link in the bio!
