Her attitude is SAVAGE, but her heart is gold 👑
Had the pleasure of seeing my wonderful friend at the BMI Christmas tree lighting event. She stood out in the crowd, and looked absolutely stunning! If you're not following her already, go do so now!

While searching for the photo @benashby took for @folkmagazine of my little Adobe home in Tempe, AZ, I stumbled upon my own version of the iconic image—the entire side of the 1910 historic Sonoran property completely blocked by a spectacular bloom of Bougainvillea.
Since moving to Los Angeles, this property that we often joke was “Made in Mexico” as its construction predates Arizona’s statehood, has served as a sort of refuge in the desert. The thick mud walls, multiple pianos and hodge-podge of nick-nacks and art created and collected by current and past inhabitants cultivate an essence that’s both cozy and eerily timeless. There’s legends that claim the house once served as a flop for ranch hands and cowboys and that more than one gun fight happened in the lot behind the property. The ghosts that have on occasion made their presence known only seem to back up those sorts of stories.
Last year, my good friend @pauljosephwaxman moved in and decided to completely overhaul and renovate the interior that was in desperate need of some tlc. He documented the transformation on a little Instagram account called @adobeonfarmer and his stories of the transformation are a fun read. I’m very excited to return to our wonderfully weird little home in the desert in a few hours!
Yesterday another photographer asked me, “What’s your favorite part about being a photographer?”
My answer was, “Seeing people fall in love with photos of themselves.” When that happens, I feel like they’re also falling into a deeper love with themself.
I feel like that when I’m looking at a picture of myself from a different time in my life, and all the best/worst (albeit truest) parts of me are shining back.
That’s what I hope I give to you all each and every time I take your photograph.
