Hello! Here’s another one cause yes. Ignore the Inktober mark unless you want to use it as a guide to what the drawing means, it only slightly relates to that. Well now since it isn’t Inktober yet I can use a lot of different mediums so here I used prismacolor and watercolor and I think it looks good but like. A lot of you guys said that you liked the style and I really liked drawing the style so there you go Imma start making more drawings like this even though I am also good with other mediums that I might post here. Anyways happy thanksgiving, thanks to everyone who bought my prints at the farmers market and have a nice day!
A terrarium of poisonous flora, fauna, and fungi.
The Belladonna, deadly nightshade, is one of the most toxic plants of the Eastern Hemisphere. The manifestations of atropine poisoning have their own mnemonic: hot as a hare, blind as a bat, dry as a bone, red as a beet, & mad as a hatter.
The Chinese Lantern, another species in the nightshade family, is a lovely ornamental plant and normally quite benign. The immature berries, however, contain the same solanine found in green potatoes left too long in the sun.
The Death Cap mushroom, a deadly member of the amantia genus. It's resemblance to many edible species is the cause of it's involvement in the majority of human deaths from mushroom poisonings. As little as half a mushroom can contain enough amatoxin to kill an adult.
The Destroying Angel, another amantia donned in a delicate veil. A killer reason to avoid consuming white gilled mushrooms from the wild.
The Blister Beetle, with a self-descriptive caustic defense agent. While typically a burn agent, cantharidin will act as a poison in large doses, historically consumed as an aphrodisiac causing prolonged priapism.
The Pipevine Swallowtail retains it's toxicity from caterpillarhood. They sequester aristolochic acids from the plants they feed on as a defense against predators. These acids are passed on to adulthood and the following generations.
The Corroboree Frog, yet another Australian animal that should like to kill you. It secretes it's unique alkaloid, pseudo-phrynamine, through it's skin, and is the first vertebrate discovered to produce it's own poison, rather than acquiring it via diet.
The Pitohui, one of five poisonous birds. Truly. Endemic to Papua New Guinea, the Pitohui has feathers and skin containing powerful batrachotoxins, which are also secreted by poison dart frogs.
This is Spooky David Attenborough, signing off. Good night.
Inktober Day 04
THE SHEIKH'S HORSE.
It is said that Sheik Sayyed Miyan's horse raises from his unmarked grave, rises with the wind, and those who listen in grace can still hear his unsteady footfalls as he canters to the rescue of the lost, often helping them across the wooded mountain pass.
