Making sweet memories, while eating sweet treats, together with your sweetie - isn't that what traveling is all about (at least some of the time)? Gotta love the solo trips, family trips, road trips and debaucherous ones too. 📷 by @hoka_gouw
Gulou East Street, a main artery in the north of the old city that incidentally leads straight to the Gulou, or as translated, the Drum Tower that used to be the latest building in the city. The street to the east of the tower features all manner of snacks and souvenirs, interesting enough to slow down my walk down this street but nothing standing out to spend a lot of time here.
Past the gentrified Wudaoying Hutong and things will morph before your eyes. Outside of Wudaoying, the hutongs around Gulou Road are still lived in, seeming defying the progress of time.
#china is a country that will wear you down if you aren’t ready for it. I didn’t know what to expect when we arrived. They are incredibly advanced with the architecture, infrastructure, and technology. It’s amazing to see what they’ve been able to accomplish while also being so virtually isolated from the rest of the world.
I’ll need to return when it’s warmer weather.
The good news is that @sveklina and I are heading back to #bali a lot earlier than we planned 😂
We aren’t built for this type of cold ❄️🌬 But so great traveling with my good friend and fellow videographer Sam. It’s fun being on the other side of the lens sometimes 😂 📸 @scenicroutesam
A Great Wall tbt 🙋♀️
I remember coming here for the first time when I was 9. My family and I went to the very touristy section called Badaling and it was super crowded... Thankfully the wall was nice and spacious during this recent trip! Would definitely recommend exploring one of the other many sites (i.e. Jingshanling or Huanghuacheng) instead if you plan on visiting ☺️
