It’s 80° in Seattle this evening and I’m starting Bad Blood on our roof while I wait for my boyfriend to join me. Easily the best evening plans I’ve had all winter 😍 Can you spot Mt. Rainier and the tippy top of the space needle?
Who else is reading“Daisy Jones & The Six: A Novel” by Taylor Jenkins Reid? I guess that’s a silly question because it seems like everyone is reading this book right now. I read “The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo” fall of last year and absolutely loved it. I was so happy to learn that she was working on a book to be released in 2019.
You may tell from my feed, but I love music very much, “music is life” is my motto! I love hip hop & rock, but a huge rock girl @ heart, and I try to go to as much concert as I can. I’ve read ton of articles & watched hundreds of hours (if not, thousands) of videos of my favorite bands, and this book feels so real. The format of the book, told as oral history was such a perfect way to tell this band’s story, it’s quite brilliant. It’s bit slow going, but I’m assuming something may explode soon or later, we’ll see. Rock n roll, baby! 😎🤘🎸
synopsis: Everyone knows DAISY JONES & THE SIX, but nobody knows the reason behind their split at the absolute height of their popularity . . . until now. . Daisy is a girl coming of age in L.A. in the late sixties, sneaking into clubs on the Sunset Strip, sleeping with rock stars, and dreaming of singing at the Whisky a Go Go. The sex and drugs are thrilling, but it’s the rock ’n’ roll she loves most. By the time she’s twenty, her voice is getting noticed, and she has the kind of heedless beauty that makes people do crazy things. .
Also getting noticed is The Six, a band led by the brooding Billy Dunne. On the eve of their first tour, his girlfriend Camila finds out she’s pregnant, and with the pressure of impending fatherhood and fame, Billy goes a little wild on the road.
Daisy and Billy cross paths when a producer realizes that the key to supercharged success is to put the two together. What happens next will become the stuff of legend.
The making of that legend is chronicled in this riveting and unforgettable novel, written as an oral history of one of the biggest bands of the seventies. Taylor Jenkins Reid is a talented writer who takes her work to a new level with Daisy Jones & The Six, brilliantly capturing a place and time in an utterly distinctive voice.

“My godfather had referred to my hair as ‘bronze’ in one of his letters when I was younger- a letter featuring a delightfully spun story about a princess with tresses the shade of my own, strands of bronze and gold...”— Jane Nickerson, Strands of Bronze and Gold 👑✨🏰

Happy Tuesday, friends! I just recently started reading American Princess and I’m really enjoying it! The book is centered around Alice Roosevelt, President Teddy Roosevelt’s eldest daughter. I didn’t know anything about Alice Roosevelt before starting this book but I’m so enjoying learning about this bold girl! Who knew?!😉💗

Hello beautiful book bugs!
Not much to say in the way of captions today. I'm feeling very nostalgic and cant seem to escape from this trap of wishing I could go back in time and re-do my life. O, the things I would have done differently! Familiar song to you?
Tell me about something from your childhood you wish you could do...but feel you cant now that your an adult?
Check it out... new on the shelf at the library! From her first day as Personal Assistant to the celebrated Mina Appleton, Christine Butcher understands what is expected of her. Absolute loyalty. Absolute discretion. For twenty years, Christine has been a most devoted servant, a silent witness to everything in Mina’s life. So quiet, you would hardly know she is there. Day after day, year after year, Christine has been there, invisible—watching, listening, absorbing all the secrets floating around her. Keeping them safe. Christine is trusted. But those years of loyalty and discretion come with a high price. And eventually someone will pay. Yet, it would be a mistake to underestimate such a steadfast woman as Christine. Because as everyone is about to discover, there’s a dangerous line between obedience and obsession. #LisbonHepurnLibrary#LisbonNYreads#UseYourLibrary#LibraryBook#IGBooks#BookAddict#Books#BooksToRead#Bookstagram#BookWorm#Bibliophile#Suspense
Thanks for this adorable and funny picture @onlyliveonce80 and @hotmessmom_nc and the kind words about #chickenlips ! "Just finished reading #chickenlips by Author Kristy Hamby and it's such an amazing story. Most children's books are waaaaay short and this one was the perfect length, with a great life lesson and beautiful illustrations. We are grateful to have been able to receive this for our Gracelynn, and the autograph is the icing on the cake.
Y'all with little better snatch up a copy! "

It took a lot to function the past few days. All I wanted to do was stay in bed and let my grief take over but my friends and my family wouldn't let me. The only reason I managed to get through Friday was to stick to my routine and periodically video chat with my mom. I also cooked a lot of comfort food, went for several hours of long walks, watched a lot of comfort shows and films, had deep conversations with my friends over Skype, and did deep breathing exercises whenever I felt the pain taking over. I've learned that without a support system and trusted coping mechanisms we can't survive the grief of an attack like that. How are you doing? I hope the past few days haven't taken your joy.
