Portrait of a Thorny Devil (Moloch horridus) from Shark Bay, WA.
Thorny Devil's inhabit dry sandy regions of Australia. They are completely unique among lizards in Australia by being covered from head to toe in spines. These spines are used for defence against predators in conjunction with a ‘false head’ made from bulbous tissue on the back of the neck. When attacked the real head is lowered presenting the false head to the aggressor. It also has a very unique diet feeding exclusively on small black ants, up to 5000 per meal! Despite its intimidating name and appearance the Thorny Devil is a very gentle and inoffensive creature.
Somewhere off the Bruce Highway, between Townsville and Ingham, is this slice of paradise. Little Crystal Creek is the definition of an Instagram worth location and with all the recent rain in this area, it's looking its very best. If you're lucky, like we were, you'll practically have the place to yourself. 🏞🏊♀️ #gochasingwaterfalls
Please stay safe though: watch your footing, check for submerged dangers and don't take any unnecessary risks ⚠️ #safetyfirst
A huge thanks to @laurencoss22 who stood posing in the cold water for me. It's definitely warmer once you're in. 😅
#happiness is letting go of what you think your #life is supposed to look like and celebrating it for everything that it is. #mandyhale

The Bluff, Camp of the Moon, The Desert, what ever you want to call it, this place is incredible. Totally off grid, pumping waves and landscapes that are found no where else on Earth. One of the best places in @westernaustralia to disconnect and reconnect.
