You would think I am fluent in Spanish, but I’m not! I did take Spanish in high school and college, but since I don’t use it on a daily basis, I am rusty. These help me plan, but aren’t quite a full curriculum. I know enough to teach the kids the suggested material (I do use Duolingo myself to brush up on my skills), but the kids use this along with flash cards or posters that I make and hang them on our walls. #hereisourhomeschool
💛A few of yesterday's treasures...
📚New books and curriculum from my favourite homeschool bookstore.
💐Gladiolus flowers purchased from a road side stand in amish country.
🍎And a few bushels of apples from our favourite u-pick farm.
All in all yesterday was a good day and a great way to start field trip week.💛
Also... is anyone else in love with the amazing books from the Lamplighter Collection? We just purchsed this one, "Boys of Grit Who Never Gave Up" and I'm already so impressed with the quality and content!💛 (Not an ad, just a great collection that I wanted to share!)
💕“It’s a special bond that spans the years.
Through laughter, worry, smiles and tears.
A sense of trust that can’t be broken,
a depth of love sometimes unspoken,
A life long friendship built on sharing,
Hugs and kisses, warmth and caring,
Mother and daughter their hearts as one.
A link that can never be undone.” 💕

After much thought I said: Why not...you will never know until you try! Gonna take a crack at flipping my refurbished furniture. I know I still have lots to learn but there is no perfect time to start so why not now?. If you wish to follow my business page feel free. Of course still posting our homeschool journey here! Thank you to all who have been so supportive and helpful. 💕

I’ve been getting many messages asking what this business is all about. Why are million dollar earners and founding members of other companies coming over here to join us?
What’s so special about this company? ❤️We offer products that are affordable, highly absorbable, offer solutions to people’s problems and are disrupting the marketplace. ❤️We have a free business school that educates is on real financial and business education. ❤️The company is less than two years old, did over $49 million in sales their first year, and is currently in 12 countries. ❤️We have 8 ways to get paid and offer up to 5% global profit sharing for the lifetime of the company. ❤️And our company still hasn’t reached the momentum phase yet.
We have a business opportunity call tonight at 8 pm est so if you’re interested, comment below or dm me and I will send you the link to join the call.
We haven’t really even started school yet this year. Not officially. My 18 year old is going to Kansas for the next two years and I can’t bring myself to make my younger boys stick to a routine when they want to soak up every moment of their older brother before he leaves (in 21 days, 7 hrs, and 47 min). And I find I’m too dang emotional about saying goodbye, that I can’t focus my mind on school. But I do have the youngers enrolled in a fun class or two. (This is a science class). So the rest of school can wait as we try to make 21 days, 7 hours and 47 minutes stretch as far as we possibly can. #homeschooling#howwehomeschool#scienceclasses#stillhaventstartedschool#homeschoolfamily#homeschoolers
We had our first day of co-op today! I teach the science class for the 7-9 year olds (we learned about the life cycle of a plant). Including parents, we meet with around 50 people every Tuesday to do school as a group for 3 hours. I’ve appreciated this co-op so much while finding our groove with homeschooling. I love that my kids have a close group of friends to have holiday parties with, field trips, play dates, projects, and even something as simple as PE or lunchtime. It’s a great way to recreate some of those fun aspects of public school that I can’t accomplish on my own. #lifescience#homeschoolers
Isabella had her very first speech therapy appointment today. She was so excited and was super sad when her therapist had to leave. I'm full of hope that therapy will help her, but I'm also pretty cautious.
My sister in law and her husband left today. They were here visiting. It is so strange around the house when company leaves. So thankful we homeschool so we can visit! I miss family. We have none where we live. As always I am happy where I am and with all I have. 💕Thanks for your visits Sheri Cahoon Pennee Darnell Thomson Del Kroush April Browne Bobby Browne. It means so much to us. We have so much fun and feel so spoiled and fortunate!
“Consider, too, what an unequalled mental training the child-naturalist is getting for any study or calling under the sun—the powers of attention, of discrimination, of patient pursuit, growing with his growth, what will they not fit him for?” Charlotte Mason
“Let’s start at the very beginning. A very good place to start...” 🎶 Julie Andrews was right about that so we followed her advice and kicked off our history study with @thegoodandthebeautiful Year 1 - Course Book and went straight to the very beginning...creation! And, remember how I was so bummed that the first book of the Secret of the Hidden Scrolls series (our new favorite series ever) didn’t come in time for me to take on our trip, and we ended up starting 4 books in? Well, it turns out that this was all in God’s perfect timing as the first book “The Beginning” is all about guess what...creation!!! Yes!!! 😍 It is the perfect read aloud for this unit and I’ve got the next two on stand by as we hit Noah’s Ark and Moses and Egypt!! Oh man I am excited! I will keep you posted with our fun activities when we hit those units, but for now we are enjoying talking about our incredible creator and where it all began! Love when it all falls perfectly into place! Definitely a little “love note from God” as my family calls it! Are you guys in the middle of a unit that just came perfectly together? (Also, this is NOT a sponsored post for TGTB curriculum or the Secret of the Hidden Scrolls series...this is just me completely over the moon with excitement about how amazing this next 6 weeks are going to be as we dive into the beginning and ancient Egypt!!!🤗)

To usher in Fall at the end of this week, I decided to try something a little different with my kids - using this Life Cycle of an Apple Tree unit study gifted to us by Kristine Wolf @creativeandgrowingkids which she created and is offered in @jodimockabee lovely shop Schoolhouse Curiosities. We're doing all four days of this unit this week, and my kids already think it's the best thing ever! I love the included book recommendations, notebooking ideas, video links and craft/snack project ideas. To be honest, I rarely do unit studies with my number one reason being it seems like so much work to prepare. All the more reason to utilize the resources other mamas have put together! I'm very careful here only recommending books and resources I truly think are of value, so I hope you'll trust me when I say I really like this one and think it's a great addition to your learning program, especially if you love a unit study approach. I'm sure I'll have lots more apple pictures to share this week. 🍎🍏

Back to school after all of the activity of the past few days. No perfectly posed and organized flat lay of activities... just in our PJ's (sticky notes on themselves to label muscles 😁💪), on the floor, books strewn about, learning some science and language arts! #reallife
