“But it’s just an ETA movement...” said the naysayer....
“Yeah, just the most accurate ETA Movement I have ever owned...” said @Farlius “...and I’ve owned A LOT of watches...” 😁😁😁😁.

With the #baselworld2019 craze, we launched the first episode of “Wrist Stories”, video series about collectors telling stories behind their watch collection.
Today, we are with Mr. K (@sliceoftime.id) to listen to his Wrist Stories. Hit the link in the bio to watch the video. Subscribe to stay tune for future #WristStories . [English caption available]
Might start doing a #funfactfriday post each week. Why? Why not. And we might as well start with what most people wonder about others anyway, “What do you do?”
My least favorite personal question BTW. What I do for income does not define who I am. Once upon a time it did, when I was a business owner and professional photographer hustling 24/7 to “be successful” while my personal life fell to pieces behind the scenes (needless to say I came to realize how dangerous it is wrapping up one’s identity with one’s profession or definition of success).
But I digress. Back to what I do. I’m a father to my 7 year old daughter, a fiancé to the best partner a guy could ask for, a former professional photographer turned hobbyist again, an amateur bicycle racer for fun (Cat 4 roadie), and in case you didn’t notice I dig style and watches a lot. I’m a man about his faith, his family, and a little fun these days. That’s the stuff that matters most to me.
But if you’re asking about my job, I work at UPS. I started there part time in 2001 during college. When I shifted into professional photography I still maintained part time UPS employment (insurance purposes), which eventually led to catastrophic burnout. Then I got an unexpected full-time opportunity in UPS’s district/regional “feeder” division. I gave it a reluctant shot, which turned out to be the best decision of my professional life. I sold almost all of my photography gear, bought my grail watch (this 14060M Sub) as a sort of severance gift to myself, and forged ahead on a new path. Now I work on-call in a “cover” position for schedule flexibility purposes to maximize family/fun personal time, I go where the need is when I do work (usually 3x12 hour shifts weekly) and I keep work at work. For a guy with perfectionistic workaholic tendencies this all turned out to be a breath of fresh air, allowing me to get my life back.
So there ya go. Truth be told, when this account was smaller I purposefully kept it less personal. As it’s grown, I’ve asked myself what makes it different from any other “anonymous” watch account? So yeah, I might as well infuse a little more of myself in here, right? Right on. ✌️
