Forehand and backhand touch drill from the beginning of our skate yesterday.
Working on decelerating the puck, having it stay flat and land flat followed by a sauce pass back to the passer.
The goal is to manipulate the puck at different passing speeds to get it to do what you want. - @matthew.petgrave@email@example.com@firstname.lastname@example.org
Hey guys, sorry for the lack of posts lately. I’ve been super busy with summer camps, preparing for high school, and to be honest, I’m a little lazy. Anyways, enjoy this trick I made last night, and expect more posts :)

Off-Season Hockey Hack: Ramp On-Ice Training As The Season Approaches @natevank19
You can spot a #HockeyGuy from a mile away. Low brim bucket, at least one piece of @lululemon , some version of flow and an ass and quads the size of Texas. Cliches aside, most hockey players can’t get enough ice, regardless of the time of year. For some it’s because they just love to do what they’re good at (ever see a hockey player run or play basketball?), for others it might be that they’re worried about losing a step or their silky mitts.
Let’s talk about what on-ice training should look like in the off-season to maximize results and development. After taking some time to recover and reset, we suggest ramping your on-ice training gradually as the season approaches. Start with 1-3 days/ week of skill development focused on-ice sessions. This is the perfect time of year to be uncomfortable! Here’s a clip of @mets40 and @ricacademy running our Pro #THT Group, including @pennstatemhky player and recent @nhlcanes pick @kevin_wall24 through @power_edge_pro skill drills.
As training camp gets closer, progressively ramp up to 3-4 on-ice sessions/ week that focus on situational concepts, battle drills and game specific intervals. As the on-ice volume and intensity increases, the off-season plan should do the opposite. Picture your off-season focus for off-ice training as a pyramid (Early off-season should be off-ice dominant, as the season approaches, it becomes less of the focus). Then picture the off-season focus for on-ice training as an upside down pyramid (starts with 1-2 seasons/ week, then ramps up as the season gets closer). #
So, dust off the wheels and get back on the ice a couple times a week, but don't feel like you need to skate every day! Off-ice training should still be the priority this time of year!
