As I've come through a pretty bad bought of depression and continued to have struggles with anxiety, I've given lots of thought to the isolation I've felt.
But here's the thing. As alone I've felt in those dark times, every single time I've opened up about it, I've found that I'm not nearly as alone as it seemed. So so many people know what it's like.
So whatever your own struggles are, as much as it feels like you might be alone...I promise you that you're not.
It's okay to open up. To be a little vulnerable. To take a little risk. There's 7 billion people on this rock, and we're all a lot more alike than we think.
Tomorrow's the start of a new week, I hope it's a wonderful one for you.
How’s it going today? My week was…I’ll say… overflowing, amazing, exhausting, and definitely the biggest one of 2018.
I must have had 3 meetings a day sandwiched in between a 2-day trial. Trials always takes something out of you with all the prepping, lack of sleep, and courtroom excitement.
I am always grateful that I get the opportunity to help people in their time of need. So on days when stopping seems oh-so-tempting (even on a Sunday!), I remember the words of Albert Einstein and charge ahead: “Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving.”

It seems like every week a friend/acquaintance has either recently sold their house to the “discount” or “flat fee” Real Estate Brokers or are considering doing so. Their reasoning is typically because they want to save $ on commissions or move on their time. ——————————————————————
It’s important to understand the full picture on how this process actually works. While you may actually save money on “commissions” you may be selling your home for significantly less than you could with a traditional agent and could be leaving $ on the table, even after paying commissions.
I always ask, would you hire a “discount” attorney to represent you in a legal matter or would you hire the “other guys” attorney to represent you? Of course you wouldn’t so why would you cut corners on one of the biggest financial transactions in your life?

A recent statistic has shown that the number has decreased slightly to about 20 a day, but that is still too many!

Therapy Saturdays: Though I'm not seeing my therapist today, I still utilize all the things he has taught me. For example, how to deal with my constant self-critical "should" statements ("I should be doing this/that; I should be doing more," etc). I plan to go back to therapy after the busy-ness of the holidays, but for now it's nice to know that his words of wisdom have stuck with me...which is something I hope some of my patients feel about me as well!
