Im thankful to have the best foods on my meal plan provided by @thepitgym_jq ... & Guess what? I DO NOT need to prep full meals. Small steps like cooking a batch of rice, chopping some veggies, or tossing some chicken in the slow cooker have helped me out BIG TIME during the work week, I promise (always remember to weigh everything). I'm very thankful and the colours are perfect!
Yellow foods are high in vitamin A, which makes them perfect as a post-workout snack. This is because carotenoids (in yellow foods) help to repair muscles. Other benefits of this bright-coloured food group are: lower blood pressure, promoting collagen formation, boosting the immune system and aiding in eye health.
Like yellow foods, green foods contain a range of phytochemicals which help fight cancerous cells. They are also packed with a variety of vitamins such as: A, C, E and K, in addition to important nutrients like iron and zinc. All these help boost your immune system, boost your metabolism and protect your body against cellular damage.
Food is life 😋
Who's hungry for an Italian stir-fry? 🍝
Stir-fries are the best, the easiest and can be as inexpensive or expensive as you wish and the best part? You're the boss!
✔You can roast cherry tomatoes on the vine in olive oil for 20 minutes at 375F with sea salt, pepper, garlic and rosemary if you have which gives any Italian dish an unforgettable tangy flair! ✔Use any veggies that make sense for an Italian stir fry.
✔Pasta of choice, I chose quinoa. ✔Sauce? Anything goes, Marinara or olive oil from the tomatoes. Craving Alfredo style but without cheese? Blend 3/4 cup cashews, 2 TBSP #bobsredmill nutritional yeast, 3/4 tsp sea salt, 1-1/2 TBSP lemon juice, 1/2 cup water and a garlic. Add to the noodles to warm up and thicken.
Enjoy fresh. Cashews, quinoa, shitake and nutritional yeast give this dish a protein punch of about 20-27g depending on your portion.
🌱Aloe Water 💚
Them: “Ya wanna go out for a drink?”
Me: “They got Aloe Water?”
Me: “You can come over to my place, I’ve got Aloe Water.”
I really wish more places provided the powerful, healing, true energy inducing things I’ve learned about, LOVE & make a part of my diet on the daily. Putting things into my body that aren’t for the greater good do not interest me anymore. Not many people care about living their best. It can be a lonely place for me, all lively and healthy and sh*t. But, I wouldn’t have it any other way.💖
Some pretty freakin awesome facts about Aloe:
“Taken internally, aloe works wonders for assimilation, circulation, and elimination. It is known to purify the blood, reduce inflammation, ease arthritis pain, prevent kidney stones, lower high cholesterol, prevent Candida, boost physical endurance, benefit cardiovascular health, and protect the body from oxidative stress.
It also soothes ulcers, hemorrhoids, gastritis, diverticulitis, colitis, irritable bowel syndrome, and other digestive disorders. Aloe provides recovery from fatigue and aids in muscle function as well as optimal utilization of several vitamins, minerals, and enzymes. It’s alkaline nature, helps to soothe acidosis and alkalinize the whole body.”

Purged some closets and cupboards today. The meds on the left are outdated and some unopened. What’s left on the right top and bottom is what we use. When sickness hits, we increase the colorful stuff on the bottom, and use the items on top as we need them. Our health over the last 4 years has dramatically improved to the point that we rarely need any of the top pictures! #healthiswealth#purgetheold
Happy Saturday!😄 I'm so glad we made it to the weekend, this week was a rough one! I was having some major POTS problems last Sunday so I stayed home from work on Monday. I wish I'd done the same the rest of the week because man, was I mess😒 The weather here has been so up and down that it's been majorly messing with my POTS symptoms, I just got my period so I've been PMSing/enjoying that endo pain🤦♀️ and my anxiety hit me HARD. So needless to say I'm just glad it's a Saturday and I don't have to work!🕺 This week has got me thinking a lot about where I am in my health journey. When I have weeks like this it's so easy to be down on myself and think about what I'm not doing right and what I should or shouldn't be doing. But the reality is I've come so far. A few months ago my period would have knocked me to the ground (literally) thanks to my endometriosis (Shoutout to my arvigo massage that definitely helped lessen my endo pain!). This month I've only had 2 pimples and they were small and only popped up the day my period started. A few months ago any little thing could set my skin off, let alone my period or ovulating! A few months ago I was bloating to the point I looked like I was in my 2nd trimester when I ate basically anything but now I don't after meals anymore! 😁
It's so easy to look at how much further we have to go that we forget to look at how far we've come! Healing isn't instantaneous (though I wish it was sometimes!). But honestly the journey to get well can teach us so much more than we ever imagined. And sometimes it's ok, to not be ok. It's not over yet. 💗
Pictured is one of my favorite quick and easy bfasts, grain-free "porridge". I just mix @evohemp and @truvani protein powders with coconut milk, add some cinnamon and whatever toppings I'm feeling! This week I enjoyed it with @onceagainnutbutter tahini (hello seed cycling!), @kitehillfoods almond milk yogurt and organic wild blueberries😋👌 Perfect for those mornings when you need something that requires basically no effort🙆♀️
When you feel like the weight of the world is on your shoulders pulling you down and you’re just trying to build your life up 🥵🤷🏻♀️😤
Some days feel like you’re killing it in all aspects of life (parenting, fitness, health, relationships, work) and others are like a smack in the face and push you back 100 steps.
Like I had to remind myself today: slow down, step back and take a breath, and deal with things one at a time 😅
Everyone has these kinds of days, just remember we’re not superhuman but WE GOT THIS! 🦸♀️
I will be at the Yarraville Festival today from 10-1 pm doing FREE health assessments
So if you've been unsure about what a naturopathy consult could do for you, or your keen to know what your iris, nails and tongue signs show (or get your zinc tested!) come on down and have a chat! I will be @growingbones stand just across from the clinic on Schild street, along with the clinic's osteopaths, Lauren from @growpphysiotherapy and Sonya from @mothernuture_aromatherapy
Hope to see you there! 🌿
What a great day! Even if my kids were crabby and awful! 🤦🏽♀️ @shannoncee26

💭Did you know?
Our skin serves 3 purposes: protection, regulation, & sensation. We wanted to create a complex that would compliment our skin in every aspect from within. Skin healthy is not just a clear & dewy complexion, it is also a strong barrier between you & the world🌍. Optimal protection, regulation, & sensation•

There is an epic battle that goes on in our heads. This battle effects how we perceive our reality, one way or another. We all have negative thoughts, but we can stop them from beating ourselves down. We can replace negative thoughts/actions with positive ones with deliberate, conscious effort. This is how we fight back. Here’s a couple ways how:
⋆ When a negative thought comes up, send 3 random people in your contact list a compliment. Brightening someone’s day illuminates your path as well.
⋆ As soon as you are aware of a negative thought, look around and think of 3 things you are grateful for. Tell someone.
Turn your intention into action.

Had clinic this morning which was amazing!
If there is one thing I’m going to miss most from my residency it’s going to be my clinic patients. 👩🏻⚕️
The one thing I keep counseling about is a healthy lifestyle. It takes time. A lot of time. A lot of education. A lot of repetition. Frequent visits. But then when you start seeing all your effort pay off and your patients getting ecstatic and motivated about maintaining that way of living and then some of them slowly start getting off of their medications which gets them more motivated. Honestly, pure joy! ✨
Prevention is truly the best medicine. #healthiswealth
And on that note. Happy Friday 💕
