@gillette: Set a good example for your sons; they’re watching, and they’re learning from you. Treat other with respect and be a mature grown up.
@activistmommyofficial, morphed into the shape of a chicken: tHiS iS DiSreSPectFul AnD cOndEsceNDinG!
No one said masculinity is toxic; toxic masculinity, as shown in the ad, is harmful to dozens of demographics. My child, Noriam, has autism and xe got bullied a lot for stimming, not being as athletic as other kids, and for enjoying cartoons.
Noriam has also been sexual harassed by straight cisgender men and women for being gender fluid.
Noriam has been body shamed for wearing large to extra large sized clothes, even though xe is a medium to large sized fit.
But whenever people like Noriam demand respect, people like you say xe is “forcing ‘THE GAY AGENDA’ down your throat”, that people like hir are “mentally unhinged” when psychiatric professionals say otherwise, or that they demand “special treatment”.
Please, Grace. Spare me the irrelevant talking points. It’s sad that this is what you take away from an add telling men to treat others better.

So @jswagzsmith and I were on our way home when this short drama happened at ojota bus stop this police man was standing so my sis was doing snapchat only for them to run to the front of the car and then assume an offensive position as if we were a bunch of criminals. He even came to the window to tell me "it is like they have not slappppped u before", all of this simply because he thought we were recording him. If you were on official duty, why should it matter if u were in a video? Esp. If u have not broken any of the laws or done anything illegal. This is what an average Nigerian deals with at the hands of those that are meant to protect us. The pictures and recording happened when it appeared as though our lives were in danger #Police#harassment@policenglagos

What is harassment?
Harassment is a form of discrimination. It includes any unwanted physical or verbal behavior that offends or humiliates you. It can come in many shapes and forms.
In many places, such as our country Pakistan, people who are being harassed are not even aware of it. And if one does not even know that they are being harassed, how can one speak against it?
Therefore, I have made a list of the most common forms of harassment: • If someone makes unwelcome remarks or jokes about your race, religion, sex, age, disability, etc. • If someone threatens or intimidates you because of your race, religion, sex, age, disability, etc. • If someone makes unwelcome physical contact with you, such as touching, patting, or pinching. It is very important to understand that harassment is not limited to sexual harassment, especially in the workplace. Some common examples of workplace harassment are shown in the picture above. On the other hand, sexual harassment is the form of harassment that is seen everywhere. In many cases, such as those in Pakistan, women are reluctant to come forward with allegations of sexual harassment in a country where many still blame the woman themselves for such wrongs. This is where we have to change our thinking, and stand up against all kinds of harassers. Since harassment can be subject to both genders, and we do not give consent for the actions of harassers, we have to sincerely believe that it is not us who are in the wrong, but the harassers.
Some ways we can act against harassment is requesting for it to stop, (if that is an option, especially regarding workplace harassment) filing charges against the harasser, or at least becoming part of the “me too” movement. Our voice has to be heard. Harassers have to be stopped.
Keep blooming, S.

@spookyy.princesss and I met this guy last night. He was hella nice and was laughing with us on how some guys treat us when they don’t get their way. Well apparently we didn’t flirt with him enough and when we agreed with a random in a game that what he said about rape was inappropriate, he started messaging @spookyy.princesss. Telling her that she was a slut, hoe, that she could kill herself, etc. She didn’t really reply and she just reported everything inappropriate. 6 hours later, he still has his account and messaged me. Here’s some of those messages. I reported them all too. Also I didn’t block him right away cause I want to make sure he isn’t able to ever use this account again, so I needed to report and as I was reporting he would continue to spam lmao. - -
I don’t blame sony, I’m @ ing them so this can be made aware of one story that represents how a lot of users get treated.
“Mum, what is suicide?” Tade, a five year old boy asked his mum who was in the kitchen slicing onions. What a fright she had; “what question my young chap asks,” she said to herself, “not about Chocolates, not about dinosaurs, but about SUICIDE!” she said and screamed out loud as she ran into the room to tell Tari, her husband. “Surprising question”, I’m sure you’d ask, but it was not like he had any need of it, that was just a word of the news that passed earlier in school of a 12 year old girl, Ada who committed suicide in the school toilet after having been bullied, and that sure raised up some curiosity in him.
Ada, a beautiful nerd with big round dark glasses, braces on her teeth and her socks high up strode into school with her bag strapped to her back cheerfully anticipating her first class. Maths, her favourite subject of all, but I guess those young teenagers didn’t see things that way. “She was too young for our class”, they had concluded, and certainly too young to top the class in every assignment, test, competition and soon to be every term. It was her last term in JSS1 and their third round in it and probably the last in the school if they didn’t make a miracle happen to make them get promoted at the end of the term. This was due to their incessant and unapologetic failures which they decided to take out on her the entire time. Hence, it was their final opportunity to give her the last doze of their entrenched discrimination, but you’ll agree with me, this time, they took it too far! (Want to continue reading the story? No worries! Follow it up on our website: link in bio)
The app has another feature called ‘distress message’ that enables a person to send out an emergency signal to three selected contacts with a single click of a button. #SpeakUp#MeToo#harassment

As a Muslim girl having grown up in the west and now living in the Middle East for some time now, this news has hit close and is very painful for me to hear! Especially as it's not the first time I'm hearing of and seeing such events.. .
Nearly one in four transgender, genderqueer, gender non-conforming, or questioning students experience sexual violence during their four years of undergrad.
That's 25% of people like me, 1/4th of my demographic. It's my chest to my groin. It's my first year of college in Savannah, Georgia. It's the first 25 years of my life. It's every 4th child you see getting on the bus. It's every 4th strawberry in the bunch you buy from the farmers market. It's the last 91 days of the year, leading up to the holidays. It's every presidential election. It's the fourth quarter that makes the dollar you need for the tolls. It's your dog's right paw. It's your ring finger, on each hand.
Public comments on the proposed Title IX rule are accepted until Jan 28. Link in bio to submit to do your part to protect young people from abuse.
@gillette did the right thing as a staple brand for many cismen, and made an ad challenging toxic masculinity, sexual assault, child violence ... and people find it controversial!!! Some men are even boycotting Gillette! I am thoroughly dead. 💀

~To the girls who made me cry~
There comes a time in every girls life where she has to deal with that one group.
That one group of girls that land on top every single time.
The girls that are better.
Or so they think.
So here’s to you.
Thank you for the stares.
I hid from you because of them.
Thank you for pointing out my flaws.
I cried at my desk because of them.
thank you for pretending to be my friend.
I stopped making them.
You have broken my soul.
Broken my smile.
You have taken every happy part of my forgiving heart and thrown it in the bin.
You have grasped my confidence with all of your strength and you have made me feel weak again.
You look kind.
You look like the girls that everyone wants to love.
You look smart.
But you sure don’t act it.
To me you are a monster.
You are cruel.
You are a liar.
You’re not deserving of my tears yet I still give them all to you.
allow me to be the one to thank you.
Because without you I’d be vulnerable.
I’d probably be just as nasty.
I wouldn’t be as good of a sister, daughter, Aunty.
I would be depressed.
If you weren’t the way you were...then maybe I’d turn out just like you.
And what a tragedy that would be. ~The better half
Deze man legt zomaar zijn hand tussen de benen van een vrouw in een metro in Brussel, België. De vrouw is hier niet van gediend en besluit de man vast te leggen. Hoe zou jij reageren in haar situatie? 😱
These tips are especially useful for activist pages. I haven’t had a post taken down since starting this account almost a year ago. Preemptive blocking is probably the most useful tool we have right now, and I cannot recommend it enough.
Some Helpful Tips to Prevent Trolling, Harassment, and Censorship.
Instagram has portrayed itself as a user-friendly social media platform with a welcoming community. Unfortunately, we all know nothing happens when we report harassment. So in lieu of any actual community support, I’ve made a list of things you can do to protect yourself from trolls and from undue censorship. Block any account that doesn’t have a profile picture. Block all of the followers of small problematic pages, like those centered around conservatism or trans-exclusionism. If you have less than 1000 followers, take some time to go through the list and block anyone you think is following you for the wrong reasons (do this periodically). Stop using right-wing hashtags. Delete the comments from trolls first, then block them. Go into your settings and find the “Comment Controls” tab, and turn on the Manual Filter. You can type an unlimited number of words and phrases, which you have to separate by commas, that cannot show up in the comments on your posts. This is particularly useful for blocking spam commenters. Here’s a list of the types of accounts you should remove or block if you’re running a leftist/feminist page: Countryball pages, business pages, any account that follows thousands of random pages, debate forums, and any account that is obviously just following you because they disagree with you or straight up hate you. This stuff is time-consuming, but so is dealing with trolls. I promise it is worth it if you’re active on here a lot, and I hope it helps.
