🔵 GO THROUGH THE FOG TO FIND YOUR PATH. 🔵

I'm a loser!
It rare that we showcase our entire selves to the world (more emphasis on the bad). In athletics losing is a part of winning and not too many of us talk about how we handle our losses and setbacks. That's why I've dedicated every Monday in November to sharing how I took some of my most impactful losses and turned it around to use as motivation. Everyone takes an L, these are some of mine...
Let me take you back to the summer of 2016. It's my 2nd Olympic team trials and I'm having the best season of my life. After running a PR a few weeks back, my confidence was unbreakable going into this meet. The season unfolded perfectly for this race and I believed more than ever that this was my moment to shine. The race started off perfectly until I slowly deteriorated, struggling to keep form and speed together. I dropped positions faster than a plinko chip in the price is right, eventually plopping into 6th place. The numbing pain I felt as I crossed the line would forever be frozen in time as the background of a celebratory picture. The stark contrast of this picture shows the brutal but honest nature of track and field, winning and losing. Once again I found myself to be an out of focus background prop to a race that granted access to my ultimate goal. My ego had just been kicked in the mouth and my 2016 Olympic dreams came to a screeching halt. ~7.10.16~ #MyMovember
MEDAL MONDAY. 🏅
Another for the collection?
Two weeks in a row?
Woah dude. 💥
Still riding on the running high of yesterday’s achievements. So much so, that I’ve bullied Mark into doing an efforts session in the rain while I cook dinner and meal prep (which is well overdue, slap on the wrist for me). He hates me 😈
So I did something...... finally registered for my first race postpartum!!!!! .
Of course it’s just for fun as I’m no where near in racing shape but just excited to do something for myself (I pray my babysitter pulls through).
Side note: Can you believe it’s been almost 1 year since I last raced which was my marathon.......so bring on all the race day hype!!
Plus, I can’t wait to rock all my new Holiday gear......
How legit are the new @brooksrunning Shoes🤩🎄❤️
Who else is running a race soon? SHARE👇🏼
